"You called it first" - really?

So lets wait until the team has no adversity whatsoever and then we can fairly judge him? Makes no sense.

Im blaming him because he is the highest ranking hockey official that is responsible for the results of the team on the ice. Him, Keefe and the core failed us and he brought Keefe and signed the core, not to mention the "gritty guys" as well.

This is Dubas' team: everyone on the roster he signed, re-signed. traded for or drafted except for Andersen, Rielly and Hyman plus the coaching staff. That is 90% of the team. If he isnt responsible then fanboy is accurate. Call me a hater for spitting facts - its a badge i gladly wear.
We didn’t lose bc Habs got more grit, we lost bc AM and MM didn’t show up.
Keefe never tried to split the big four in 3 lines to spread the scoring instead he double on top two lines. While JT injury was unfortunate but it showed the Leafs won despite without the 10mil player.
I hope this is the lesson the future Leafs GM and coach will take notice, need to spread out the offence. And let the Big four carry their lines. It is always harder for teams to shut down three lines than one.

Or maybe Shanahan isn't a good judge of who should have stayed? I'd fire him too since this was his choice.

Maybe that's true

But nothing from Lou's ong term contracts (Zaitsev and Andersen) or his lousy draft record while with the team make me have any regrets about passing on him.

If Dubas' ends up a flop likely Shanahan should have turned to a third party as his choice.

6 shots in one period in a game 7? Coming into a series with half the team injured, then adding in the "much better" injured players and somehow looking worse and losing? Two straight playoff appearances with a "team built for the playoffs" and losing in the first round in less than 7? Blowing the 4-1 lead in Boston?
Nah almost all of them were the expected outcome in a humiliating Leafy way to lose.

This was just us choking away a golden opportunity

How many times does it need to be pointed out that Lou DIDN'T WANT TO STAY? He was going to the Islanders in the offseason no matter what.

Interesting thing for me is that Lou has been a GM for 40 years and has done great and never learned to play golf.

Dubas has been a GM for 3 years, done nothing, but on the bright side should be good enough to join the PGA tour after he gets fired.
Lou always looks like he is wondering what he is going to do with the body in the trunk of his car.

I mean, we tried with the tough gritty team in the early 00's. You know, the one that despite not being all that dirty, is listed as one of the 25 dirtiest teams in NHL history?
Liked that team but they can take a back seat to the '93 team. That was a winning formula from coach right down to the 4th line. The league conspired against an all Canadian Cup final. Too bad really but it made sense for the US to have the great one against a storied franchise.

I'd say Lou while never making the 100% right decision created better organizational infrastructure that could overcome mistakes and led to a mentally stronger team from top to bottom. No one is going to win 100% of their moves, but having the organizational character survive them is essential. I don't see that with the Shanahan/Dubas/Keefe team.

The worst part about some of the post game sound bites is how the core guys don’t see any parallels between previous elimination game no shows and tonight. If you watch the intensity level of their last 10 minute “push” they look like a random sampling of any NHL playoff game around the league. Simply put they have no idea what kind of game the playoffs look like to this very day.

I return to a familiar hell with the boys in this forum.

Different year same story, the same family supporting the same team.

The players, coaches, GM's all change but we are still here.

Good Knight Leaf warriors, every year we show more heart than the men on the ice. See you next year.
100% this.

where can i watch the full Keefe presser?

dumbass Leafs page only posts like 45 seconds of it all the f***ing time

I hope they enjoy their North Division Championship banner raising. It's one of a kind. Cherish it boys.
Just like the kids get a trophy for finishing last place and excuses yeah but we were the best in the regular season what happened

I find myself surprisingly calm at today's loss cuz it just confirms that any more talk about this team with this core is capable of winning a stanley cup in the near future is delusional. They may at best improve and win a round or two out of luck, but the core just aren't big game players and they have proven it again and again, at least while they are still in Toronto.

Serious question. How do u beat Colorado when they have Mac making half what 34 is making Ranta making 1.5m less than 16 and they have a young strong D? Simplest answer I can think of is a #1 goalie who does not give up many softies.

Colorado is a buzz-saw... Tampa probably has enough firepower to match-up.

I think they all see it, but they're not going to admit it in an interview. It serves no purpose

That's just like.. Not happening. The Leafs are undeniably an awesome regular season team and have been for several years now. They expierence heartbreak every playoffs and come back and play well during the regular season.
They are not learning from mistakes bc MGT always try to shield the team(players and coaches)with it was Bruins, BJs goalies were great and now it will be bc JT, Foligno and Muzzin were hurt plus we ran into Price. Always excuses instead of taking responsibilities like working on your shot or skating or edge works or watch type on great PP and copy it……
