Alex Galchenyuk was one of our better players though, the problem is at the top not the depth. Tonight IMO the 4th line was our best bc they evidently wanted it.

I do think Dubas gets fired tho, even if I'd disagree with it.

I'd say no on Matthews even though he's the 2nd biggest goat. He's going to win multiple rockets. If the right offer came though, yeah I'd move him. Would have to be a spectacular offer. We're stuck with Tavares he has a NMC. Rielly was excellent and I want to keep him.

I didn’t mention anything about physical veterans. All I said was a culture reset. You need players who actually care about winning. Who leave it all on the ice. Toronto doesn’t have that. Rutherford is good at finding those types of guys.

while Dubas has done a decent job, it hasn’t worked. He has failed to create a team that gets it done in the playoffs. Being in people with a proven track record.

Babcock was right the entire time about this group. (It doesn’t excuse him being an asshole especially in his last year) but they don’t know how to play the right way.

Look at the guys we moved away from Kadri, Kapanen, Brown, Johnsson ect, all guys who don’t cheat you on effort. Losing Connor Brown probably hurt the most he’s basically Hyman with the actual scoring ability.

I feel fine, already over this one. It seems to be easier and easier getting over this each year.

I do think Marner has to be traded. You can only change coaches and gms and depth players so many times.

There is so much wrong with this team and so very little time. I don't agree with the philosophy of the construction, the contracts handed out, cutting the rebuild short etc etc etc. They got what they deserved. Enough said.

Playoffs are a different animal. You need heart and hate. Our current lineup just doesn't have that fire.

The only hope is that Rogers and Bell fire them all before they have a chance to mess this up any worse than they already have.

With the money Rogers invested in the NHL and how much money they derive from the Leafs, you hope heads will roll.

I would not give up on Marner and Matthews yet.

The flat cap will be hard to manage again.

This team needs a “rebuild” of the depth.

Either way, I am happy I prepared myself for a let down tonight.

Do we try and blame our grit now to avoid blaming our 22 million dollar duo? The 22 million dollar duo that makes it so we can't really bring in better depth players because better depth players won't sign for league minimum. In our last 11 playoff games our 22 million dollar duo has scored 3 goals and all of them were from Matthews.

You move Marner this year and see how the team reacts. It will show if this a country club team where they run the show and guys like Matthews will sulk cause his buddy got shipped out or will this team finally understand the severity of their choking in the playoffs

Dubas is the mastermind behind the country club mentality that hey sure take 3 delay of game penalties in the same game, no worries. And the one I see consistently missed, his contracts are terrible. Not bad, hideously awful.

Galchenyuk had good underlying numbers because he was riding 91+88's coattails and was barely 0.5ppg heading into the TDL. I don't know how you look at that and say think you suddenly don't need Hall or Granlund or whoever else who can actually produce.

Kap and AJ we're here's for the recent losses, effort or not and Kadri just outright hurt this team

Then he overpaid them all so badly that the best complementary players he could get - who are critical for deep playoff runs - were below replacement level players.

You want your top line to dominate, but this is a team sport. Montreal beat us with depth.

Also you know they would've been hungrier if they had signed bridges and needed to perform for their paydays.

Its to avoid blaming the person who signed the contract. If these were Lou's contract they'd be getting the blame more.
