Marner needs to be traded. Same like Colorado just moved off of Rantanen.
Rebuild.
Rebuild.
Agreed on the rushing/offensive Dman for our backend But would Berube allow them to play that style? I feel he is suppressing the team with all this grind hockey he has implemented. This team isn't built for this style. When we win games it's because we open it up and let the guys skate. We need to open up one of the Top 6 spots on the blueline for a major skating and talent upgrade. Think someone like Bowen Byram could breathe life into the transition game. We have a good meat and potatoes foundation, good structure, but need to ignite it with some untapped, high end potential.
I don't really want to add a rental at the deadline either. If we make a deal costing futures it's got to look like the McCabe deal where we benefit for a few years, and it's a major addition to the outer core at least.

Out of a playoff spot by the end of January. It's over. It's all over. Trade Marner and Tavares for picks.
Dobson seems like a good target. Probably pricing himself off of the Islanders. We need to open up one of the Top 6 spots on the blueline for a major skating and talent upgrade. No kidding. This really goes to show you how pathetic the team is.
Afraid of the 2025 Ottawa Senators
I don't think Berube is the problem. He's been speaking lately about generating more from the back end or at least getting them more involved. I think they might just suck (as a group).Agreed on the rushing/offensive Dman for our backend But would Berube allow them to play that style? I would love to see this.Out of a playoff spot by the end of January. It's over. It's all over. Trade Marner and Tavares for picks.
Stale team is stale. It's a workplace and these guys are probably as sick of playing with each other as most fans are of watching them fail together. Rielly has Brodied out, he may never get it back. Their power play was one of the best in the league for years and just bottomed out last February. They probably do just suck.No kidding.
Which eastern conference team would you have confidence this team could beat in a seven game series? Like I mean, full confidence. Not a blink of an eye, it will happen.
Buffalo? Philly? That might be it.
They would shit themselves against Florida, Tampa, Boston, Montreal, Ottawa, Rangers, Canes, Caps.
It'd be 50/50 against the Wings, Islanders, Devils
I legit think they would find a way to lose to the Jackets, Penguins.
Tre has work to do, or a bunch of guys are all of a sudden going to have to be way more effective.
We are missing a centre, defenceman (at least 1), winger. Dunno if even that is enough. Our goalies are basically bandages and tape, so fingers crossed there I guess.
Ha ha. I don't even think I am overreacting dammit.

Brendan Shanahan is patient zero. Until he's gone, nothing will change. This organization isn't serious about winning. Not merely clowns, but literally the entire circus.Berube has caught Blue and White disease. It was only a matter of time.
Holy f***. We're cookedEnd of February? Try end of January.
Be prepared to be disappointed. Woll is f***ing trash.Same core..same lack of will. Better goaltending is pretty much the only chance this team has to make this years playoffs different
We DO NOT HAVE DEPTH SCORING. Expecting Holmberg and Kampf to be your 2nd and 3rd line centres is foolhardy. Along with Max Domi and the entire 4th line how do you have a chance. Then you get the core 3 playing perimeter cutesy perimeter hockey and you end up scoring 1 goal again. If Berube says those guys put in an honest effort he’s an idiot.
Of course expecting any offence from Rielly is bound for disappointment. Outmuscled for the puck, caught up ice, out of position, a key giveaway. He’s just horrendous at this point.
Treliving has to trade for a centre that can score. When a team stifles the big guys, we will lose.
He has a full NMC and I suspect he wouldn’t waive even if Tre said we ain’t signing you above 12.5.We need to either bite the bullet and give marner 12.5M-13M x 8 (yuck)
Or deal him ASAP for max value
No need to run the core 4 again in the playoffs. They cant beat defensive teams when the pressures on and the lanes are clogged.
Really low confidence this team can beat anyone but Tampa and maybe WSH in the playoffs
I think we would flip the dcript in the po just like the old days. Ottawa wins in the regular season and we smoke e. In the playoffs. They would be my prefered 1st round opponent.Yeah. I don't want to face Ottawa in the playoffs.
As long as the rock stars can't complete 2 passes or get a dangerous shot on the pp, I find it hard to blame the Kampfs and Holmbergs. The only guy who scored tonight was Bobby McMann, who is depth scoring. The power outage came at the big boi level.
I wouldn’t consider McMann depth tonight playing with Matthews and Marner. I think McMann is a top 6 forward as is Knies. To me the depth is those 3rd and 4th liners that contribute virtually nothing to the offence. If anyone other than the core 4 is considered depth, then I agree with you.The only guy who scored tonight was Bobby McMann, who is depth scoring. The power outage came at the big boi level.
What really makes me mad is that we have no assets to trade to get help. You'd think we have won a couple of Stanley Cups with how bare our cupboard is. But the cupboards were emptied for 1 playoff series win. One. We have nothing. What do we expect to trade in order to get a legit centre?
