Dobson seems like a good target. Probably pricing himself off of the Islanders.

Buffalo? Philly? That might be it.

They would shit themselves against Florida, Tampa, Boston, Montreal, Ottawa, Rangers, Canes, Caps.

It'd be 50/50 against the Wings, Islanders, Devils

I legit think they would find a way to lose to the Jackets, Penguins.

Tre has work to do, or a bunch of guys are all of a sudden going to have to be way more effective.

We are missing a centre, defenceman (at least 1), winger. Dunno if even that is enough. Our goalies are basically bandages and tape, so fingers crossed there I guess.

I don't think Berube is the problem. He's been speaking lately about generating more from the back end or at least getting them more involved. I think they might just suck (as a group).

I think it'll be a good idea if we can get Byram. He'll run the power play nicely. Would do you think the cost would be though?

Stale team is stale. It's a workplace and these guys are probably as sick of playing with each other as most fans are of watching them fail together. Rielly has Brodied out, he may never get it back. Their power play was one of the best in the league for years and just bottomed out last February. They probably do just suck.

The Leafs have very slowly, almost slyly (hoping coach wouldn't notice?) slipped into their old ways. Their d-zone coverage, and overall play, is troubling. They look completely disinterested at times. If the Matthews line doesn't get at least a few goals or the tender doesn't steal the game, they lose. The depth scoring is non-existent.

Lots of time to fix things but if I'm Treliving I'm not at all convinced he should be loading up at the deadline. As of today it's just the 3rd line that needs an upgrade (or three) but that may not be enough.

Then you get the core 3 playing perimeter cutesy perimeter hockey and you end up scoring 1 goal again. If Berube says those guys put in an honest effort he’s an idiot.

Of course expecting any offence from Rielly is bound for disappointment. Outmuscled for the puck, caught up ice, out of position, a key giveaway. He’s just horrendous at this point.

Treliving has to trade for a centre that can score. When a team stifles the big guys, we will lose.

As far as a loss goes not a bad game from the Leafs, they won the minutes, took a clunky goal against.

I wouldn’t consider McMann depth tonight playing with Matthews and Marner. I think McMann is a top 6 forward as is Knies. To me the depth is those 3rd and 4th liners that contribute virtually nothing to the offence. If anyone other than the core 4 is considered depth, then I agree with you.
