Typical Lou invite. "This guy was a pain in my ass 8 years ago, let's sign him now that he's all worthless and washed up."

In Prust's case, he's always been a washed up piece of **** and just generally low-quality human being, so I guess Lou didn't miss out on much.

Not sure how he's a low quality human, unless he's done something off the ice I'm not aware of. Hate him on the ice if you want, but it just means he's doing his job if other teams and their fans hate him.

Is the difference between martin and prust less wear and tear + better skating?

Patrick and liljegren are quite the prizes however.

I'm slowly coming round to the idea that some teams (or their ownership) just aren't allowed to tank. Tanking to get better is not a universal truth, not yet anyways. I've heard from someone that talks to the the Aqualinis, and the ownership honestly believes anything can happen if they make the playoffs. So that's the mandate, and us Canucks fans better get used to it. Could be years of chasing the half rebuild, hoping we get lucky in the draft, but never tanking. With the personnel changes we made this year, we are a wild card team, figuratively as well as literally.

I like this a lot we were to damn soft last year and he can help address that he should be able to beat out Michleak for a spot

Prust currently thinks toughness=talking tough

Actual toughness from him certainly hasn't been on display for the last couple of years, disappointing player

Lou just wants to get his mug on Hockey Wives but he traded Bernier, so he gets Prust!

Leafs are the last team that should be doing this. Don't they need good players?

We have good players coming up,but they're all young, inexperienced, and not tough.
Training camp will be even younger, even more inexperienced, and certainly smaller.
A PTO for Prust is fine.

Did Lou or Prust steal your gf or something?

He's anything but, he's an honest hockey player trying to make a living. Hes never done anything toolish as far as I can tell and I include the Stepan incident being that I'm a NYR fan. No risk move by the leafs.

Seriously? He talked a couple days before about them beeing pro players and know how to avoid skating in to goalies or hitting someone in the head etc. Then he breaks Stepan's jaw with a late and dangerous hit. Prust is an idiot. He also got suspended when he played for NYR because he elbowed someone

It's a no risk move for the Leafs, unless he injures one of their better players during training camp.

Prust's style of play was never going to last for a long period of time. Montreal got what was left the first couple of years of his contract, but injuries have played a big role in his decline. I would be shocked if he made the Leafs final roster, but I've seen stranger things happen.

Sounds like the perfect guy to protect our youth.

Reading this thread you would think they just signed him to a 5 year contract. It's a PTO. 99% of the PTO's last year got released. It's already been established there is a vet quota for camp, it's very very likely he does not get signed.

Even if he does it' a tough guy. Some people are very confident the leafs are going to continue to suck, yet show a lot of ignorance at their situation and potential roster.

This sounds more to me like a Marlies move, and exactly what they did with Clune last year. I'm sure he'll see a few games of NHL action over the year as a way to reward the good veteran leader in the Marlies room though

Well he didn't do his job in Vancouver as he didn't stand up for Vancouver's rookie's on numerous occasions.

Hopefully he realizes that that is what they probably expect from him f they don't cut him.
