Get back on the couch and have your dual monitors and remotes warmed up. It’s Leafs at Wings and Canada against Latvia.

Let’s get synchronized with winning ways my brothers and sisters

Notes:

Matthews remains sidelined.

The Maple Leafs have recalled Matt Murray from the American Hockey League (AHL) Toronto Marlies, signaling a likely start for the veteran goaltender this weekend. Murray last played in an NHL game a week ago, stopping 24 shots in a 6-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. That game marked his first NHL action in 628 days.

Wings will be motivated with a new coach. “We bottomed out , we can go lower”

Should be a great weekend for hockey. I want to see all Ws.

Pretty busy weekend so I hope I can catch some of the games going on. Definitely be checking the scoreboard while I'm out.

No Matthews at morning skate…

This guy is done for a while

Based on the efficacy of his November off, Auston can sit out weeks and weeks and this injury won't get better or his performance won't improve. Based on how banged up he was to finish the season and how he wasn't ready to go at first preseason scrimmage months later, I'm not sure we can expect him to be healthy if he came back months from now without surgical intervention on whatever it is.

Why not just stop being a distraction and go on IR or even LTIR?

My Timmie's NHL challenge picks for tonight.

Tavares, Pacioretti (suprised he was available as a second pick), McCabe.

Go Leafs Go!

Might tune in and out of the game to watch Canada vs. Latvia.......we'll see.

We should sit him out for the 4 Nations tournament.
I'd love for him to play in that, Americans on this board need to realize how awesome their dude is.

But if he's that injured, absolutely agree with you.

Yea agreed, at this point they might as well go through with a surgery if available and hopefully have him available for end of season or playoffs

In the meantime I’m phoning nashville/buffalo… and seeing what pieces we can get from them to carry the load in Matthews’s absence.

A 75% Matthews is useless to us, when he doesn’t score goals, he stops doing much else. His defensive game, physicality, puck carrying, and everything else just seems to be linked with how confident and deadly his goal scoring is and this season it is hard to watch at times.

Red Wings will probably be fired up under a new coach. Will need to weather the storm in the first period, otherwise another bad start could throw the game away.
