Post-Game Talk: Leafs hold on to win a thriller!

Think about the rust Liles and Komaserik will have after missing weeks. Liles gets dominated on the forecheck, against Boston he is a fish out of water.

They will be fresh for the game. Yes they might be rusty, but I don't think they will be worse than what Gunnar/Holzer have been over the past couple games.

Even if Liles gets dominated on the forecheck, how is that different from what we have now? Our guys turn it over now against okay forechecking teams anyways. A hardcore forechecking team like the Bruins will eat them alive.

At least a guy like Liles has the skill level to maybe break out of it and carry the puck out effectively.

Plus they are sitting at home resting waiting for the Leafs. After 2 straight Bruins losses it's going to be ugly I fear for the Leafs tomorrow night. I think I'll be missing watching my first game this season.

I have a feeling this Leafs team is different, no Liles, Komi, Gardiner, Brown, Lomardi, or Connolly. Not as much smurfs.

If Frattin plays, I think we will give a good account of ourselves.

Can't believe 50% of the season is officially over, I'm not even going to think twice about this team until they play another 12 games, I have a feeling the Leafs will pull a win tomorrow. Next 12 games are like this:
Leafs @ Bruins
Pens @ Leafs
Leafs @ Jets
Pens @ Leafs
Jets @ Leafs

Lightning @ Leafs
Leafs @ Sabres
Bruins @ Leafs
Leafs @ Bruins
Panthers @ Leafs
Hurricanes @ Leafs
Leafs @ Senators

If we can pull 7 wins in the next 12 games I think we have a great chance at the post season.

There is a large segment of the Leafs fan base who, if the Leafs were to win the Cup in a seven game series, wouldn't be out celebrating with the rest of us but would be calling in to sports radio shows pontificating about how they should have won it in five games - and of course they would have all the answers as to how that could have been done. Best just to ignore them.

Yeah, who needs to actually critique the gameplay, right? I mean, when we were in first place last year, that was a pretty good indicator that we were a lock for the playoffs, if not the Cup. The W column does tell the whole story, after all.

I'm sorry, but this is a load of BS, and an insult to the intelligence of those of us who have been justifiably critical of the Leafs abysmal defensive play as of late.

Obviously, everyone is happy that the Leafs have managed to pile up the points recently despite their inconsistent play and lethargic effort in the defensive zone. No one expects a perfect performance every game.

However, the reality of the situation is that unless this team reverts to playing the way it was earlier in the season, it will not be successful in the latter stages of the regular season, and definitely not in the playoffs if they qualify. You can take that to the bank.

I'd give Frattin another game off even if he is ready. Let him come back versus the Pens.

Really hoping Liles gets put in next game. We need someone to fire off a strong first pass and help create odd-man rushes and such. Can't wait for Gardiner to be back too :(

We can't skate out of our end, it's our most glaring problem right now. Our D lacks balance, we have two options available.

Frattin has a tremendous pinball effect in our lineup.

It moves Komarov to the grabo line, and mcclement moves onto the 4th line which really gives us 4 lines to roll. Assuming grabo shows up with a brain. Komarov and kule seem to have an affinity to each other stabilizing the wings.

Frattin coming back is not only huge for the #3 line, but for all lines.

i think we can go 8-4-0 or 7-5-0 in those
making it:
22-13-0
or
21-14-0

Hi guys, just got back from the game. My losing streak is broken! Haha.

Definitely heart attack worthy plus I was sitting with some of the most disgusting creatures in humanity. Hooting and hollering at all the women that walked by, telling the Sick Kids to go "**** themselves" along with idiotic Leaf comments and opinions.

Getting to the game, everyone knows I love Grabo, but **** me, he was god-awful tonight. All of our D pairings looked pretty horrid today, especially Kostka. He made several terrible pass attempts to Gunnar which just got them hemmed in their own zone.

Also is it just me or is Colin Greening becoming a Leafs killer?

Leafs Deal Senators yet another Blow

This game had all the tell-tale signs of a potential trip-up game for Toronto. Their opponents were in a 0-1-2 hole.Their top forward, defenseman, and goaltender were out of commission.

No doubt but being coming back rusty against a physical team like the Bruins might not work out for the best.

Couldn't agree more.

I can't wait til McClement is back on the 4th line. He's awesome in that role and I don't feel scared at all with our 4th line out there when he's centering it.

He's like the dogmaster, keeping the two dogs (Orr, McLaren) on leashes, and of course, releasing them when needed ;) (See Montreal 6-0 drubbing)

I'm glad to hear that you ended your losing streak today! :handclap:

Yes, there are some disgusting creatures in this world and I don't have any respect for those people :shakehead

You... yeah you. I like you. What you're doing right now, i'm going to allow it. :sarcasm::laugh::handclap:

IIRC they missed a game or two because of snowstorm. But yeah, it's annoying to see such big differential in games played.
Ah okay.

I am not looking forward to tomorrow tbh lol.

Even-up month for the Bruins -- they play 17 games in March.

ah ok but still annoying lol. freaking rask has been lights out for them behind their excellent defense.
THIS THIS THIS

Reimer is our MVP
Yea I want to give to someone else but Reimer really is doing all he can to hold the fort.
