Post-Game Talk: Leafs hold on to win a thriller!

Randy needs to figure this out quick. Were winning, but its not for the right reason. We look like the Ron Wilson Leafs lately.

Yeah... that's what I was thinking too. As the season is progressing, the team is reminding me of Ron Wilson. I really want to see some good defensive hockey games from now on.

MaClaren right now reminds me of:

how many games does boston have in hand atm?
4 games in hand, and they're ahead of us by a point. I think it's pretty clear that we will not win the NE, Boston are simply too good, but we have a legitimate shot to finish anywhere from 4th-8th in the east, which is pretty damn exciting for a team that hasn't been to the playoffs in nearly a decade!

It literally astounds me that we beat one of our archest rivals (who are right behind us in the standings) in a thoroughly exciting finish, and half the posters are complaining about the manner in which we won.

And it happens over and over and over.

Guys, our Leafs are currently in 6th place in the entire NHL.......please read that again and let it sink in.

6th f...ing place in the entire NHL!

Try and enjoy it and stop moaning about Liles not playing, or Kessel's softness and acting like you know more than our coaching staff.

11 of the last 15. Damn straight.

It's been great, but realistically, it's not sustainable if the Leafs keep having several defensive lapses every game. It's particularly disturbing because it's a pattern that has developed over the last few weeks.

The Leafs demonstrated earlier in the season that they can play responsible defensively on a consistent basis. It's imperative that the team reverts back to that style of play if we are to stay on course towards finally making the playoffs.

I agree with all the posters that suggested that it's time for some fresh blood on the blueline.

The games versus the Canes seemed to screw things up but somehow the Leafs have a pretty amazing record even playing kind of uninspired flat hockey most of the time. Better than losing so I'll take it.

not worried for tommorow night. it will be close.

grabo needs to figure out how to play hockey quick.

No one else is mentioning this, but staying out on an extra long shift with a net empty is a Ron Wilson coached team, one of our players did this tonight, RC knows who it was, I hope he addresses this. That was the most disappointing thing I saw tonight, the only thing worse that I can think of is not standing up for a teammate than goal scuking for an empty net goal.

I'm really not sure if RC can do anything about he who will remain unnamed. It must be pretty aggravating for him.

Vanriemsdyk with the player of the game, according to TSN.

He's surprised me lately with his passing, didn't think he had it in him.

There's a reason he was drafted 2nd overall. He's got the raw skills, just needs to put it consistently together.

Gunnarson and Holzer out for Liles and Komo tomorrow pls. Gardiner would be better, but I don't think it will happen.

Grabo, Gunnarson, Holzer, Bozak were pretty bad tonight. Bozak's defensive coverage on our end was piss poor on two of the Sens goals.

Reimer, Kessel, JVR and McClemment were all good. I thought Phaneuf was pretty solid as well.

RC was pretty pissed at the end  He just GTFO'd out of there after the final whistle.
