Post-Game Talk: Leafs hold on to win a thriller!

Tomorrow is officially gravy - I don't even care a little about a loss. This was the game we needed and we nailed it.
Suck it, Ottawa. I don't think you'll see fifth place again this year (though I'm more confident you'll be finishing below it.)

On pace for 60 points and a Habs/Leafs first round clash. (in on-pace-for, Boston would pass Montreal.) what a dream.

Could you have called an usher? Really no one should take that crap. The fight maybe I can understand but the other things, unwarranted and should not be tolerated.

Agreed. Orr and McLaren have been very effective this year, and McLaren is one of the better waiver pick-ups we've made in recent years.

He's a good skater, even has a couple of goals, and is one of the best fighters too. What a solid acquisition.

As for the second line, we probably won't see much scoring from them, but at least they'll be defensively responsible. Komarov and Kulemin are very good at positioning and board work.

Hard to believe Mcclaren went through waivers and we got him for nothing, he's probably our best fighter on the team, that's saying something when Orr and Devane are in the Org.

We have 3 of the toughest heavyweights in the NHL and AHL, and all can play. None of these guys are Paul Higgins types.

Several of the women who were being constantly yelled at eventually got an usher and all he did was tell them to calm down. It worked for maybe 5 minutes and then they were at it again. I think most people just figured it wasn't worth their time as it was pretty much an army of them.

I was getting razzed alot too for my Grabovski jersey. ;) Thought you'd appreciate that tidbit.

Well I don't holler at women anymore, grew out of that ages ago, guess some of us men don't want to grow up. A few give us a bad name.

Really if things got offensive, there is no place for this when you pay good money to watch games.

Carlyle spoke before they left for Boston. Basically, he's happy with the two points, doesn't care about the wins/points because right now we're 1/2 way through the season and we have a.l.o.t. of work to do.

He's blaming the coaching staff for not having the club play solid hockey and it's their job to make it work, and that they will clearly have to figure out a way to get it through the teams head.


I think the more Grabo plays like the way he played tonight (2 minute w/empty net) I can see him being the 2nd amnesty player.
 
If you watch any other team's games, how many teams out there play "full 60 minutes" or whatever? Fact is, every night you're playing against NHL teams with NHL caliber players. Teams are not always going to look great for the whole game. You're not always going to shut down an NHL team for the whole game. Does not mean that everybody has to be satisfied, there is always room for improvement, but I take the win 10/10 times and don't complain too much.
 
Was at the game tonight in the greens, actually had a pretty tame, yet still very funny, section. great game to be at.

line of the night goes to the somewhat intoxicated man above me:

"Hit him with your purse, Alfredsson!"
 
Best thing about this win? Tomorrow is, essentially, a free game. Who cares if we win or lose? Might as well just try some stupid **** where we can't in other games, and try to confuse Boston.

Just keep using flying V's to **** with them.

But with RC at charge, I don't really see it happening.
