Keefe almost managed to lose this one in the 3rd period with unnecessary lineup tinkering and playing the 4th line to defend the lead 6 on 5.

However, the way we dominated the first 2 periods should provide a confidence boost to the players against Florida moving forward.

Keefe's double standards for veterans vs. young players and lack of adjustments are honestly infuriating. How the hell do you justify giving Brodie 23 minutes and the kid line under 10 in that game? Like what? What kind of room temperature IQ do you need to think putting the fourth line out in the last 2 minutes in that situation was a good idea? Never mind that we are going on week 5 of the powerplay being a liability.

Samsanov exactly as advertised. Makes stellar saves and then gives up softies. Still don’t have confidence in him.
Benoit should never come out of another game. If he does Keefe should be fired on the spot.
Robertson finds a way to score every night with 8 minutes of playing time. Is only going to get better.

Worst part is Florida wasn't even pushing that hard.

Leafs could have also experimented with a little gamesmanship and scrumming on that Panther comeback attempt. Could have easily dished out that lumber and drawn some of their star guys into maybe taking a penalty to take the wind out of their sails.

Keefe almost coached himself to a loss. Truly baffling how bad he is at his job at times.

Also our Power Play is the worst it has ever been but they refuse to make changes. This is by far the biggest problem going into the playoffs.

My stars of the night were Matthews, Benoit and Bertuzzi.

Felt like the coach out coached himself in the 3rd starting with altering the lines; pointless. Running out the wrong D pairings at the wrong time. Appreciate the attempt at detail, but dude way overthinks sometimes. That being said, the players were trash.

Embarrassing third imo. FLA beared down a little and our guys basically shat themselves.

Sammy shaky, but good enough for the night. Brodie has about 5 good competitive minutes in him. If they get used up early, he is done-for. Liked most of the other guys other than the mis-read by McCabe on the 3rd goal against. Tavares had his worst game since the all-star break, just brutally brutal.

PP continues to be a mega problem. I am almost sure my men's team could defend it, so predictable and imprecise. Talk about shambles in the brain, hooboy.

Marner and Morgan/Lily will help that a lot when they return.

Hopefully Marner gets back soon so he can have at least 5 games to find his legs before the playoffs.

Thankfully the PK looks to have turned a corner. 14 straight kills

Yeah I don’t think Reaves did anything wrong. From what I remember of the play it was Brodie chasing the puck behind the net. Got kicked out to the top of the circle and he kind of air head flamingoes in front of Sammy.

Brodie is just playing a trash game. Compared to how hard McCabe is eating pucks, battling, Brodie’s just waving his stick around, never making plays and falling to stop cycles, rim arounds, box outs.

Brodie SUCKED. he chased behind; didn't get the puck; didn't block the shot. I don't know wtf was he even trying to do there

Good 1st 2 periods so you know they can play with the Panthers. I don't care what team you are at whatever level being up big going into the 3rd just means the other team comes out pissed off and the leading team needs to ramp up their game to avoid getting run out of the building.

There is no reason why Brodie should be playing game 1 of the playoffs. If he plays it's due to old hockey mentality of rewarding your vets vs playing the best players.

All teams employ this stupid take your foot off the gas up big. It is why there has been so many 3 goal leads blown this year.

Like the prevent defense in football, I hate it.

PK looks much improved. Not sure I would attribute that to Dewar... but I guess he is helping. Kampf has picked his game up quite a but as well. Not having Brodie for those few games probably didn't hurt either.

Totally agree in missing 44 and 37!

I don't know where Marner will be playing when he comes back, but I sure as hell hope it is not with Matthews. I would not change that 1st line. But having him back should help overall; Tavares is struggling, maybe Mitch can help there.
