He was pretty non committal with his answers... he hasn't even started the job lol He did say he wants his team to play fast, and that he does respect/favour data. He seems very happy to be here and also talked about Cliff Fletcher being very influential to him.

I think you are way off base. They chose Hiller because it’s going to make Matthews and Nylander happy. This is who they wanted. He coached them (the forward group when they first entered the league). It’s pretty clear they valued getting a coach the players trust above all.

That’s why it’s Hiller and not a Cassidy for example.

I'm with the people who have the wait and see approach. I barely remember the name when he was an assistant here. I will say I'm glad it wasn't another big name like Cassidy or even Roy. Tired of big name coaches coming here. Berube was a disaster. I know he may have had a sow's ear to work with but I can't think of one guy that thrived under his tutelage.
