Maybe this has been asked, but...with our cap situation after this trade (less than $3M after LTIR), does this pretty much confirm that Muzzin is done at least until the playoffs?

lol kerfoot was probably our 2nd best forward last playoffs behind willy..so how and why did you come to this conclusion? because it isnt based off stats or facts.

That was against Montreal. They will be outmatched vs Florida or Tampa or even Carolina.

So you're not currently a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Did you miss the part where I said still?

Blackwell has looked sharp this year. Being an overall +1 on the Kraken is pretty impressive considering he doesn't score points. He's also known for being terrific on the PK.

Did he steal your gf in highschool or something? Why shit on everything the team you follow does? I mean they didn’t fluke into a top 6 pts%

Because its been 6 years and they haven't done shit in the playoffs, despite being an impressive regular season team for a while now, and getting progressively easier playoff matchups.

I like this trade. Initially, I was hoping Dubas stood pat. I'm not against improving the D, adding in another bottom six forward that can fill in for Kase if he's out for a significant amount of time.

What made me even happier was seeing, "Mrazek has been put on waivers". I'm pretty sure others felt the same way as I did and hoped he never donned the Blue & White after that debacle against Buffalo. It's not like he's had a few bad games and was average the rest of the season. He was 4GAA .880 to .890% every single game almost. Good freaking riddance. I love that Dubas isn't scared to toss out the garbage if they underperform.

I'm happy the Leafs didn't stand pat because they didn't give up their first round pick or any prospects and found a way to improve their team. How could I be upset with that?

I'm sure you are right that Lindholm will look a lot better with Boston's system and all the good two way players they have, but that's true for most players they could have gotten. Paying a premium for Lindholm because you expect him to be carried by their system just doesn't seem worth it
I don't think he'll be carried, I simply view him much like Toronto views Muzzin. He'll play 2nd pairing minutes, rather than top pairing minutes and they'll have him as a core player for 6 or so years. Cassidy is doing a nice job of keeping the core competitive in a post Bergeron / Marchand era.

They paid a premium, but got the guy they wanted. Their top 4 is legit, IMO.

Awesome take !
By the way i Was the one who stole his gF in Highschool ……and I was around when Pilate washed his hands to seal his fate …
Please to meet you ….

If you're bringing Gio in for physicality, well I'd rather have the physicality of a Schenn or Chiarot or Manson. Giordano is over the hill.

While I agree Lindholm is soft, he's a vastly superior player
Gio is also excellent in transition, moving the puck, gives us another weapon on the PP, Solid defensively and one of the most professional leaders in the league. The guy works. He also has great chemistry with Brodie. We are a better team today than we were yesterday and it didn't cost us 1st round picks and top prospects.

So you're upset at Dubas, for 6 years of ineptitude?
