Fun thought. If he can PK I wonder if they’re looking at moving Kerfoot.
Not sure, but I'd personally like to see a 3rd line with Mikheyev - Blackwell - Kerfoot/Spezza. That 3rd line had been struggling defensively I think, and maybe Blackwell can help.

I wonder if the Leafs try to flip Holl for a similarly paid defenceman tomorrow that would be better suited to play with Rielly? Maybe Braun?

Allows you to bump Lyubushkin to the third pair to play with Muzzin in the playoffs if the idea is to put Giordano-Brodie back together.

I'm more inclined to think this is the end of Holl with the Leafs. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking...

I really like Jacob Middleton. I have nothing against Holl I think he is unfairly besmirched here and he can help in the physical playoffs, but I'd be willing to explore a move for Middleton to bump everyone down a spot.

Like it so far.

Don't give up any first round picks - check
Don't give away any top prospects - check

Isn't that what anyone could hope for? Well gone Dubas, seeing the prices the past week or so had me nervous. Not bad at all.

Does Middleton play on the right side? I believe he's left handed.

Kase's health is a huge question mark. The problem is that's Kerfoot and a lot of 4th liners in the bottom six. Tampa's 3rd line was practically a 2nd line the last few years. This team needs a Jordan Staal type to truly be competitive.

I'd like to see what Knies can do, but relying on a college kid to come in and produce right away is sketchy

I find it really hard to believe that anyone who's watched the team over the last couple months could think the third line is a weakness.

Didn’t touch the prospect pool at all and kept all 1sts, upgraded the top 4 & added another buzzsaw to the bottom 6.
Gio isn’t a “rental” in normal sense, unless something crazy happens expect him to get the Spezza/Simmonds treatment here on out.

Since a bunch of Leaf fans got mad I'll elaborate as to why I don't think this is a good trade. Yes, Gio is good, and Blackwell is a solid bottom six guy as well, but you're giving up multiple futures here for a 38 year old rental and a bottom 6 forward and not even addressing the glaring weakness in goal. If that doesn't get fixed Tampa or Florida will bounce the Leafs in Round 1. Then you're heading into the summer with another 1st round loss over you and nothing to show for those draft picks. No need to get mad. Perhaps Dubas will still acquire a goalie before the deadline, who knows. And yes you guys do overrate your players lol. Every fanbase does it but Toronto takes it to another level. It's been like that for years. I think it's a symptom of most Canadian sports networks devoting excessive amounts of time to Leaf coverage with Toronto being the biggest hockey market.

First, you're assuming they aren't going to fix the goalie position. Second, even if they don't and do get bounced those second rounders don't mean much as the percentage of second rounders who become NHL players is really low. People treat those picks like they are guaranteed gold, they are not.

Not sure where he fits next year with Rielly, Muzz and Sandin.
