The team seems all too willing to check out if things don't go their way early on. I know not every leader needs to be "rah rah" but this group apparently needs one of those.

This has really been the case for years. If you can get our forwards frustrated early, they just fall apart.

The Columbus series was probably the best example of that.

Looks like I picked a good game to miss..how the f##k are leafs getting destroyed by the habs..it’s why it’s so difficult to not approach this team with doubt

Put down a cool $90 on the Habs to win this morning, at +230.

This Leafs team is pathetically predictable.

The only silver lining to this - it showcases to Dubas that the blueline he's built is awful. Been exposed regularly the past month now.

Agreed. Really feels like they are missing a passionate leader who can also contribute on the ice. If they don't have the 2nd part of that equation, I don't think they have what they need.

I think Tavares’ style of lead by example or whatever he supposedly does would be best served wearing an A. If he had good habits and is a guy to quiet lead he shouldn’t have a prominent role in the leadership but just a veteran guy in the room. His game isn’t anything to marvel at so I don’t know if you could use that to inspire the troops. If the team needs emotion and a leader to turn it up to 11, Tavares’ style seems to have the opposite effect.

I am honestly not sure if Holl can do literally anything right at this point.

Except maybe warm an AHL bench.

I guess we got goalied this game. As long as some of the boys are great in their advanced stats, this is nothing to worry about, lol.

I hope the boys just had an off night.

No they don't that is such BS. I've watched plenty games where the star skates away and somebody comes in for him.
Well all the cup winners haven’t had scaredy-cats as their top guys is all I’ll say
Tampa - Kucherov, Point, hedman, stamkos are not as soft as our guys
St. Louis - Oreilly Schenn Tarasenko Pietro
Washington - Ovi Kuznetsov Backstrom aren’t soft either
Pittsburgh - Crosby Letand Guentzel Malkin aren’t exactly soft either

most of the time they aren’t as soft as our guys
