See Savard last year, and all the rumours of him easilly getting a 1st at the TDL.

Habs will just keep him, trade him elsewhere for a 1st and a 3rd like Savard, and enjoy another 1st rd exit from the Leafs once again

Can't wait till next week when he'll get a 1st and a 2nd, then the week after when he gets 2 1sts...you Habs fans are so funny LOL

Chiarot will likely be traded and what Montreal receive in return will likely be a 1st rd pick .

To Leafs:
Chiarot, Allen (50% retained)

To Habs:
Ritchie, Mrazek, 1st 2022, 2nd 2022, 2nd 2023

Rental this year for leafs and cap flexibility to sign Campbell. Mrazek is good for our tank, and Ritchie can fetch a mid-round pick maybe at the deadline next year.

Yay or nay?
Why Toronto paid a 1st and 2 2nd for a little upgrade in 2nd goalie and a def who will be the 4 or 5 in the team right now.
No way this trade can happen

Tampa can afford to do that trade. Others cant.

It's true that every team that make the playoff has a chance to win the first round. But that is not applicable to the Leafs. Did the Leafs win the first round the last 10 years? The answer is No. 5 first round loss in the last 10 years.
They are not going into previous playoffs.

This seem like a slight overpay from Toronto but overall if it fits their need, it’s something Montreal should jump on. Being rivals and hating each other shouldn’t be an issue if the assets coming back are good. if Montreal ain’t going to compete let them have their chance at the cup and wish them the best

Tampa, Florida, No matter who, someone will... Leafs can either take the price and deal with it, or let the parade pass in front of them again.

Well, there's a difference between somethings price and it's value. If Tampa is the only team willing to pay that and they're no longer in the mix, guess what? His value is only what they best offer is even if it's less than what Tampa offered.

Tampa is probably the only organization in the NHL that can afford to do that.

He won't be coming to Toronto. Western Canada seems more likely....

Regular season Chariot is worth a second rounder but playoff Chariot is easily worth a first. If you watched much of Montreal’s playoff run last year he was very integral to it. He played a shut down role and was very physical. He led the team in ice time numerous times. Some team will cough up a first for him.

LMAO

Montreal fans selling

Chiarot is a playoff beast . Did you watch the playoffs ?
Price he carried the team on his back with no help .

The answer is both. Price gave the edge as that star in net and the team was committed to playing a strong team D structure in front of him. Chiarot was a huge part of that top 4D we rolled. He deserves credit for what he brought to the table which was way more than what Savard brought for Tampa and that's not to diminish what Savard provided either. Chiarot was just that dam good with neutralizing other teams forwards in front of the net and along the walls.

Big strong boys that skate well like Chiarot are not a dime a dozen. His trade value as a pending UFA is not just something Habs fans are pulling out of thin air. You know this but you probably want him for the lowest price so devalue attempts come along. Good luck cause there are a few teams that are in on Chiarot.

If you were in our shoes, you would say the exact same thing and I'd probably back you up on it.

Yah... We saw that last year

Good thing he didn't get dunked on by the Leafs in that series. Oh wait? It's such a weird obsession of Habs fans claiming that Chiarot is this top-4 defenseman when every measurable statistic proves he's been getting caved in since his anomaly year in 2018-19. Us Leaf fans can barely stand the sight of Holl and he's a measurable improvement over Chiarot.

How could any team not want Chiarot in their top-4?! He's playing 24 mintues a game and drowning!!

There's a capable 4th D in this trade? The only one I see wouldn't even be the Leafs 7th best defenseman. I sure as hell wouldn't spend a 2nd on a backup goalie when we didn't even spend that much on our starter. Not to mention why would we spend a 2nd on a backup goalie?

Wouldn't even be the Leafs 7th best defenseman.
