Murray looks sharp. He's been square to every shooter and he's battling in the blue paint. Looks really sharp. Other then him I'd say it was a fairly sloppy period TBH. Beauty PP goal to start the game, but lots of sloppy neutral zone play. Typical training camp stuff, nothing to worry about

Despite the overwhelming narrative against it, we actually have defended well for the last 2 seasons, and there doesn't seem to be any reason to believe that wont continue going forward. We never needed our goalies to steal us games, just don't lose us games. I actually think Murray will provide us exactly what we need. Play big in the net and battle.

They did, and it wasn't even close. I believe the Leafs had as many TMM penalties as the next five teams combined. It's why I swear the refs watch the Leafs bench for a chance to call it.
