Lineup looks like the potential opening night roster minus Sandin.

Damn you are on top of shit I was coming to put up the GDT lol.

Agreed with others score doesn't matter really none of it matters. But it is hockey and Friday the NHL season opens for real

I still don't understand why so many people put so much stock into preseason games. As long as there are no injuries I honestly don't care about the score

I think there are some things to get out of those games. Winning or losing a pre-season game doesn't matter, it's how they played and also about individual efforts. You can also see the preparation of the team and the depth players.

Honestly it doesn't really matter. Obviously would like to win 82 games but coming into the season red hot and winning 10 games in a row is only so helpful in that it gives us a lead in our divisional race.

Many would argue successful teams take their foot off the gas the first half and turn it on the second half to avoid "peaking too early". Other teams like the Avs dominated from game 1.

To me the only important part is our defensive structure because the team needs to be ready to support our goaltending when the season opens. Our fans and media are waiting for the moment to write them off and the team would be doing a massive favor putting them in a position to succeed and build their confidence right away.

I just want the PP to look good. Don't really care outside of that.
We will have the same returning 5 on PP so no worries once the season starts.

Our PK on the otherhand will look different this year. I wonder if Kerfoot gets bumped with ZAR, Jarnkrok, and NAK available for duties.

I am actually quite surprised at the depth of the roster being played here tonight.

Still 3 more pre-season games. I thought the roster would more resemble the AHL squad that we put out on Saturday.

Weird, hasn't he had a good camp thus far?
I thought he has, but I think it's between him and Nicky and Nicky is beating NHL goalies with his shot. Neither guys belong in the bottom 6.

The starting line up still feels really cloudy, especially with JT's injury. Nick is as close as he's even been to making the opening night squad, though.

Not a great sign for Malgin.
Not necessarily. Malgin has done well with Nylander on his line. Malgin actually was really good with Robertson on the same line. Good board work and nice pass for Robertson’s first goal. Then being in the right spot to score off of Robertson’s shot off the post.

Robertson has earned a shot with Nylander in Preseason now to see if he has chemistry and can continue to score or at least play like he has. I would expect both to get a game each on a top line next weekend until a final decision is made.

Both might make it into a couple of regular season games if Engvall doesn’t start the season.
