Marner and Rielly being our do-or-die point shot options is a joke

I'm on board with replacing Benoit with an offensive D who has a shot... no clue if anyone is available though... although I still think we need a partner for Rielly, so who knows if that is even possible.

This Toronto team looks lost. Don’t be surprised if they miss the playoffs.

Ottawa is going to make a serious run now. They are looking like they may win the East.

Holy shit lmao

Talk shit about Toronto all you want but pretending Ottawa isn’t a basement team is pants on head delusional

Wouldn't matter; it appears the Leafs are contractually obligated to play Morgan Reilly in all the prime offensive positions...

Yep...during Matthews injury, Nylander played with 3rd and 4th liners while Marner was put with Tavares.

Tulsky research indicated success for players is most dependant on linemates and he said who they are matched up doesnt matter much.

Marner once again has only played with Matthews and Tavares.
We went like 8-2 and Marner put up nearly 2ppg during that stretch.
But I’m sure we would have went 10-0 if Nylander played with Tavares and Marner played the best of what was left….

Now if you want an honest justification on why that was the right idea when we were that short handed, Marner being a pass first player is most effective with decent players to pass to and Willy is better at producing offensive completely on his own.

Woodbridge
that late 2nd goal against is a killer

Drives me nuts when that happens
And why did that happen? Matthews played the puck nonchalantly and then didn’t stay with Kane in the zone. Earning top salary in the league and dogging it is not a good look. Marner again best player on the ice. Tell me he doesn’t deserve to have the same salary as Matthews….at 12 million each.

I seriously do not care about who nylander played with

He wanted 11.5, he needs to produce at an 11.5 million dollar pace

Marner is over 105, nylander is under 90

He’s been dogshit this year.

What’s been clear is becoming more and more obvious by the day. This is not a great team. Been propped up a ton by goaltending.

Matthews just doesn’t have it this year.

We need help scoring asap. Time to make a trade.

Think Willie is one of those players who is just too unpredictable to play with. His linemates either need high IQ to predict what Willie is going to do or just have a crash and bang style that fits Willie.

OEL sucked, Timmins is the only other option right now.

Not sure they have much to work with here.

It’s crazy how much a plug like Franson would open up the offense, I really don’t understand why it’s seemingly impossible to get a consistent point shot on the blueline.

I for one saw it coming... Both Domi looking like this and Nylander reverting to the mean, which is why I was opposed to signing Domi long-term and giving Nylander $10 million in the first place...

But the guy REALLY frustrating me right now is the captain. He decide now that he's got his contract he doesn't have to try anymore? Or did he blow two years worth of goal scoring chasing 70 last year?

Or... Are players on this team sulking because Berube won't let them go full offense like Keefe did?
I think Nylander has been fine... overall.

And if Domi can deliver in the playoffs then I guess it is worth it.

Optimistic outlook there, but Domi has been basically a waste of a roster spot so far.

Why did he look good with Nylander every night almost.
