And everyone hit everyone else as hard as they could. This sport isn't for you. Try curling. Less traumatizing.

No they didn't. Stevens had BY FAR the worst reputation at the time for hitting people that hard.

It's possible to acknowledge that it was a different time, while saying Stevens STILL pushed it too far.

The good old days. Maybe the anti-fighting pansies can direct towards the NBA now. Good clean air getting punched out nightly.
I boxed for a long time. You wanna watch fighting? I suggest you watch, you know, fighting. UFC or boxing or whatever. I dont wanna pay $100+ to watch Colton Orr play. You wanna fight? Join beer league. Plenty of goons around.

Not a bad period. Controlled the play for the most part. Gotta keep battling for the puck. When you're struggling offensive you just need to put the puck on net, get to the dirty areas, and put it in .. Doesn't have to be pretty.

Penalty on Hyman looks like a dive...Hyman must be superman...puts his stick on the player's thigh and he goes flying forward towards the ice.

Wonder if Hyman gave the same look to Matthews after his 3 early giveaways.

I love the kid, but it hasn't been a good start for him
Listen mrs. hyman, its not that your son is bad, he just doesn’t have the brain, talent, or hands to play in the top 6.

Skate backwards and angle the guy off, pinch him into the boards? Or execute what he was trying to do successfully?
You're talking about the play where he steps up at the redline, right? Where he's between Simmonds and Patrick, steps up well and intercepts the pass in mid air, but 2 Flyers swarm him.

Stevens was a banger, in a game full of them. People tried to do the same thing he did every night. Many were successful, others weren't. It is what it is.

The puck support from the forwards is terrible.
I'm trying to figure out what the strategy is. Because it looks like Babcock has the forwards just above the red line with the dmen well behind the blue line. You play a 1-3-1 or a 1-4 at the redline defending that and you'll prevent that pass 90% of the time. I'm losing so much faith in Babcock, he's got a speedy team with skill playing a style that suits a heavy team with puck movers on the backend. This doesn't suit this roster. It's insane at this point.
