That was a full-on collapse in the 3rd. Good defense LOL. It's a good thing it was Montreal more like. They missed an empty net.

I don’t know about collapse, I mean they did win. I don’t like the hanging back as much as they did either but they did turn it into a few odd man chances that they were unlucky not to bury. That’s mostly how it is supposed to go minus the finish.

JT out
Foligno out and still not at his best
Hyman not at his best
Joe not playing well
Nash is a huge disappointment thus far
Galch terrible thus far
Marner not his best thus far
Our PP is atrocious

we are still up 2-1
I’d say under the circumstances we are doing pretty good

Some are controllable. No reason why Gally, Nash and Joe should be in tomorrow. One of them needs to be out tomorrow for Robertsson or Brooks. Pref Robertsson over Gally

Foligno should be coming in for Nash

We all know Joe isn't coming out

I guess Campbell has proved all the doubters wrong. If the Leafs had this type of goaltending in the last few playoff (playin) rounds would they have won one or two of them ? He’s making big saves when the team most needs them.

Freddy was .936 and 1.84 in the play ins against a stronger team but didn't get the run support. Campbell probably needs to get past the Habs before we start comparing the two but I hear ya. Price in game 1 was a wall but Campbell just got better. I definitely have some confidence with him against the Jets next round as well.

True but they also have a vezina trophy winner in goal. Would help if we can dust of the Scabs in 5.
i mean price is playing pretty damn well..helly is playing great but hes beatable, unless he plays like he did in those 2 games vs us earlier in the year, then anything can happen.

Freddie’s problem has always been soft goals at inoportune times. He’s a good goalie when he’s on, just not a clutch goalie in the playoffs. Campbell was clutch tonight. Small sample size but he seems more composed to me. Freddie’s problem may be between the ears.

I never understand this line of thinking. Why are you critiquing Marner, then throw in the Willie part, like it has anything to do with it. It’s like this... Thornton was useless tonight. Kerfoot turned it on. The Thornton missed passes were maddening.

Make no sense to me.
Both are immensely talented but soft. Marner is not strong enough and Willy hears footsteps and turns away from contact near the boards. They have enough skill to overlook it but if you watch players like Pasternac and Ehlers you can see what a little bite would add to their games.

I agree... Campbell has shown us thus far that he is far better in the playoffs then Andersen! I hope he gets the start tomorrow!

I can easily say "Imagine if Fred had this defence versus the Caps and Bruins". Probably get through the first round in all 3 matchups.

Let's just enjoy Campbell and leave Fred out of it. Campbell has ways to go before he proves to be the better playoff performer. It's been 3 games against a team that wouldn't even be in the playoffs if Sens didn't sign Murray.

edit- I am thrilled with Campbell. Just don't see the need to bring Fred into it.

I never understood the hate for Kerfoot.

He seems like a player TO fans love. He hustles, takes a beating every night and keeps getting up.

I guess he isn't Kadri and that is a problem for some

He became (for some) an fixation of hate because of their dislike of the Kadri trade. He just couldn't shake the association

It's also about things that don't make sense. He gets called out for being soft and weak on D when he's miles ahead of Kadri as a consistent presence in both respects while still managing to piss the entire team off without getting suspended. I'd at least understand if they went after his lack of finish or something, that's really the only thing Kadri's obviously better at.

The OP you replied to is not wrong... Freds lateral movement is terrible as of late.. and no, he wouldn't win us a round with our current team, sorry, but he sucks now. Which is exactly why we are running with Campbell.. facts are facts, just need to face em!

Hard to disagree with your analysis tbh.

Not only that but his puck tracking turns routine shots from the point into high danger scoring chances.

I thought the notion of Campbell sitting tomorrow was a joke. Why is this even a thought?! This is the playoffs. All regular season goalie rotations are thrown out the window. You run with your starter.
