My God, the Habs post game thread is everything you would want.

I thought there might be some sort of excuses but the continual admissions of our superiority is just glorious. Let's go get the next one. I don't want this feeling to stop.
They went a bit too far on the Lemieux-Jagr comparison, but it was good read.

Montreal down 3-0 half the third left. Florida has better record than T-bay in the battle of of Florida

Montreal likely losing tonight. So if we can pull off another win against them next one we walk away from them.

Especially when we will play Ottawa 3 times while the Habs are sitting idle.

Anyway they are probably having a meltdown. Time to go read their board for a goodnight chuckle.

Well one of them Laments, "we don't have a Mathews that can win us a game by himself"
I think they will rebound from this nosedive. They will give us all we can handle tomorrow night. Their offense dried up and they will be coming out hard. I’m glad they are losing. I wouldn’t mind laying another licken on them before their break

They didn't do much to improve from their 24th place finish last Season. We finished 8th and improved our D, and a few of our young core got a year wiser and a year better. Robertson and Simmonds are nice pluses.

Yeah sure, it's possible Habs can win any single game, but by the end of the season it won't be close. As I've said before I think Habs don't even make the playoffs.

They added Anderson and Toffoli, who have scored over a third of their goals this season.

They added Romanov, who looks like he’ll be a good one.

They added Jake Allen who has outplayed Price. Backup goaltending had been a problem for them in the past and it seems like they addressed that.

I don’t think all that is enough to do any real damage but I wouldn’t say they didn’t do much to improve .

It will be a tough game Saturday night, especially with the Habs in a bit of a funk and a week off coming up.

It is funny though, all it takes is a few wins and everyone annoints them a juggernaut. Leafs do the same and its like No I refuse to annoint them anything til they go 82-0 and 16-0 in the playoffs. Twice.

To be fair to the Habs, they didn't just win a few games. They played 2 weeks of hockey where they looked like a legit contender, and had some elite underlying numbers.

I think the bigger issue was we didn't realize just how bad Vancouver was. It takes a bit of the bite out their stats when consider they played them in half those early games.

Toffoli has benefitted the most playing Vancouver. In the other games I’ve seen him, he been pretty invisible and takes so many low % shots. You can tell vs the Leafs that he really, really wanted to score and was taking some bad shots.
