Feel like if you wanted Nick Ritchie you could've just picked him up off waivers yesterday.

... Which is what makes both these proposed packages hilarious.
But picked up Nash over waivers yesterday instead…..

No team is giving up 2 blue chip prospects and a 1st with the season Chychrun is having .
Chychrun season looks worse on paper than it does on the ice. Don't get me wrong, he's not great this year, but it looks to be a lot more of him trying to prove something than it does him being a bad hockey player. I think someone told him he's in line for the C and it made him goofy.

We've talk a few times in proposal threads about Coyotes players, and I know you watch games so I know you know how good he can be. He's not even asking out, people are calling Bill. I think he has just as much value as Eichel, who got 2 fantastic assets in Krebs and Tuch, with a 1st and 2nd. I expect at least that much in return. If we take on cap as well, we should be compensated.

EDIT: Also, why I think they should be on the same level in trade even though Eichel has been (and maybe will continue to be) the better player, is because Chychrun has the better contract, is a clear #1/#2 D on basically every team (a few the #3, but they're deep as heck with quality), and doesn't have the same injury uncertainty.

How about…

Chychrun
2023 6th
For
A. Matthews
2022 1st

Seems like each team gets what they need. Matthews goes home and out of Tor. Leafs gets their stud blue liner.

I don't think PHX can afford to pay his signing bonus. This trade would ultimately mean relocation. Not sure they would do that.

Arizona would 100% make that deal

If Matthews hits UFA, Arizona is gonna make him highest paid player in NHL. Either by getting him or driving up the prices for other teams

edit: also trade is very bad for Toronto
