He'll either come back on a discounted deal or retire. Don't think he's going anywhere else tbh.

Yeah. I can understand guys like Marner, Nylander and Matthews not really taking discounts in their prime but Tavares has gotten paid already and is now past his prime.

He can still have productive years but they need to be for a lot less $$. Whatever we save on him (if he returns) + the fact that the Leafs don't really have any bad contracts + cap space increases will make us a juggernaut for the next couple years.

Next year will be a tough one though.

I don't think Vegas is nearly as much of a challenge with both Eichel and stone out. They are a very beatable team at the moment.

Complete dominance that first period. Only 2 things I didn’t like:
1. Nylander looks checked out and making some silly or dangerous plays. Like he’s not even trying and he could have scored 2-3 goals that period lol
2. JT looks pretty bad, dude handled the puck like a grenade that period. Hope he starts playing better
