As far as I am concerned they can waive Frattin too. Hell I would give a team Frattin to take that chump off our books.

Not true. I said that I would give up Frattin to get rid of Connolly. I was overstating my point of course. (...)

You'll have to admit that the initial post was quite unclear as to what you meant.

People aren't mind readers, you know.

The best way to avoid misunderstandings is to make sure that what you actually wrote is what you meant to convey as a message. ;)

I agree with the majority of your post but you don't build a team by judging the pieces on an individual basis . One of the problems we've had is the players don't fit well as a group . Overall we're small and soft and sometimes a skilled player like TC will lose his spot to a lesser skilled player because he brings more than just offense .

TC's main problem is he needs big grinding wingers to be effective in all 3 zones . He's a smart/skilled player but he's soft and he'll never team well with another soft player like Kessel and since PK isn't going anywhere that bumps him off the first line . (...)

He is soft, that's true.

What is puzzling is his amazing effectiveness as a shot blocker, which involves sacrificing your body.

Softness and effectiveness as a shot blocker are two concepts which normally are strangers to each other...

He's only making 3.850 this year in actually money, though. Leafs can eat some of that (lets say 0.850) and the team who takes him only has to pay him 3M. That's still high, but certainly reasonable.

I looked at NHLNumbers.com and his salary is listed for 4.0. How is it pro-rated for a shorter schedule? I really want to know how to do this for myself. http://stats.nhlnumbers.com/teams/TOR?year=2013
Almost every posting I see around here is listing a different number for the salary another team would need to pay to Tim.

Someone is looking at capgeek again and not understanding what they are reading.

Connolly's cap hit is 4.75M, salary due this year is 4M (assuming full year) and his buried cap hit is 4.75M - 900K (max AHL salary) or 3.85M.

someone just misheard apparently.
He heard on a fan590 update mention of Connolly and NYI claiming Aucoin in the sports update.

I knew this was too good to be true, even if he's bought out, it's still been a great week to be a Leaf fan!

Unfortunately that first quote you tagged there is a later quote. I feel my original quote was quite clear. No big deal though. I have misinterpreted what others have posted before.

The problem I had with that other poster was that he constantly nit picked on my comments and those of other posters without attention for the main point. That is a ploy I do not feel is productive in a conversation.

PS Look at TC's career and see how many full seasons the dude played and tell me you want him on this team. The guy was half a man and not quite half amazing.
