While I agree with the Liles/Komi argument, I disagree with the bolded part.

Grabovski may not have been drafted by the Leafs but he has been developed by us. He bleeds Blue and White, and for you to make a judgement like that before ever seeing him play in the playoffs is nonsensical. I don't remember the last time I seen Grabo take off a shift. He makes the players around him better and he's now in his prime. I don't know about you but I'm tired of trading away players that we developed, especially for the reasons that you listed.

Quick question: Who do you see us winning a cup with?

There is a reason he is Grabo the mother****ing WARRIOR!

What difference would it make if it is Aucoin or Connolly on the Marlies?

If someone picks Connolly off waivers great, if they don't Aucoin/Connolly both are not prospect and Leafs signed Aucoin for their farm team to help the farm team.

It isn't like the Marlies leading scorers are all under 25, it is a veteran club with prospects throughout.

Because Aucoin works his ass off and Connolly doesn't? Probably not the best role model for the club.

Carlyle wasn't impressed with Kadri outside of 1 period of hockey either.

So do we really believe the sound bytes?

He was tempering expectations. Context gets lost in translation.

As far as waiving Connolly is concerned, I'll be one happy camper! Shed the dead weight!!!

I think it is. As I understand it, teams can only retain three salarys at a time in those types of deals. My guess is the Leafs would rather someone take him for free so they don't have two of those salary deals used up.

And really, they likely wouldn't get a ton back in a trade for Connolly by the sound of it. So if they have someone pick up his full salary for free they probably value that vs. using another salary deal + eating some of his salary and a late pick.

To add to my post, they needed to waive him first because of the 23 man roster limit for tomorrow. Well, either waiving him or someone else (or sending Kadri down).

Perhaps that's why the may have waived him first.

If he only had a heart. #Tim-Man

No, you're the only one who watches them (assuming you're calling Connolly our hardest working forward )

He's probably talking about the guy who's calling Grabo lazy. I don't think anyone's crazy enough to make the argument that Connolly isn't lazy.

Nonis >>>>>>>Burke! Thank you Nonis for doing what's best for the team. Burke would run his mouth so he could hear himself on highlights later on.

I much rather have a gm that gets things done instead of of barking and not doing anything.

did connolly see this coming?
in his interviews he seemed excited to getting started with the guys
When interviewed a guy or a girl can been seemed as he/she is very excited. When hitting the ice.... we all remember last year's Connolly. The physical part of the game was not there at all. Even the mental game was gone. It's been quite a long time since I've seen so lazy and soft performance Tim put on every night with the Leafs last season.

Interested to see if they are making this big room for some Big Capone.

how could anyone call our hardest working forward lazy? like do these leaf trolls even watch the games?

 :biglaugh:

If thats all he can produce after being the hardest working forward on our team, then good riddance. Means he can't do any better.

Really? Why would they want to lose an asset for free?

Because they don't see him an asset at this time. And like I said previously, they can (as I understand it) only retain a certain amount of salary in deals (3 salaries) at a time.

So it's a question of using another salary retention (already have one) on your player, just to get a late pick out of it, or losing him for free and maybe using that salary retention later in the year from another team who may blow it up at deadline time (in preparation for the cap dropping next season).

Y U GO KLEER KAP ROOM?

Is there a need to clear cap room in Toronto... other than for a trade?
...or is Nonis simply cleaning up Burke's messes, to streamline the kids into the depth/line up etc.
