Shanny stays.

Lou and Dubas team were a fail. Yes you heard me. Team. Lou validated this mess before he left. He was the mentor and adviser. When Dubas was being poached by the Avs, Lou shut that down. His assistant was going no where.

I trust Shanahan to assemble another good team for his second try. This was a fail but it was still a very solid effort. We were contenders for 4 years in a row.

We were a contender this year but that's slowly slipping away. I don't think we scare anyone at the moment.

Don't scapegoat Shanny. He's only 52 he has more to give and is hungry for a cup here.

May I ask how you have come to the conclusion that it was Lou who wanted to keep dubas here? Lou wanted to stay on as gm. Why would he want dubas to stay? That makes no sense.

Shanahan has been here for 7 years and not a single playoff series win.

Lou came when we were trash. We had made the playoffs once in about a dozen years. Lou was here for just 3 years and yet after finishing last his first season he managed to get us in the playoffs twice in a row for the first time since 04.

Lou just won gm of the year twice and has made the semis two years in a row.

This constant hate for Lou is not based in reality.

I can't even believe he has managed to somehow regress to such slow skating speed. He has never been fast, but at the moment he is almost always behind the puck .. and he is not getting any younger.
It’s the lack of urgency. And Matthew’s is just doing his thing, where’s the “come on boys, I’ll carry you” jam you expect???

Keefe is lost on the bench. Look at the body language.

I don't know. I don't remember seeing Matthews and Nylander trying *this* hard when Babs clearly lost the room.

Even Marner is doing his usual skating like a chicken with his head cut off. Good sign, hopefully.

Shanahan shut it down which was the writing on the wall for Lou, iirc.
Nope. Avs got permission from Leafs which implies Shanahan said yes. "Mysteriously" the permission was revoked. nobody said why. Pretty obvious Lou laid down the law behind the scenes. Dubas was the(okay not the, but one of) most sought after young exec at the time. Look it up. I'm not making any of this up.

I do actually. Doing everything but producing.

Unfortunately his lack of experience shows. He’s built a soft, gutless team and allowed his analytics driven inexperienced GM to set the franchise back 5 years.

He will score some goals in close and win faceoffs but he cant create much of anything by himself.

Still a very useful player but his caphit is far too high.

HOW DID BUNTING FALL?

Every freaking scoring chance we can get we screw it up by missing the net, falling or just failing.

This is beyond sad and pathetic to watch.

EDIT: Ok i take it back
