I'd like to see them reel off a huge 12-16 game run after struggling a bit early, but I don't think that's happening this year.

Its going to be win 2, lose 3, win 4, lose 2.

Forever.

Hard to say, but I don't disagree.

No Matthews makes it hard to guage truly, but, this playing style doesn't work with this core. The have to cheat to generate fancy offence, coach says no, they don't go.

We could find ourselves in that playoff race in the East.

This is the first game I’ve watched in a week or so and it looks like nobody knows well here anybody else is going. They look slow and hearing about last night this team is average if you remove the great goaltending Stolarz has given them.

McCabe driving me insane with his puck handling yet again.. you hate to see it cause he does everything else very well. Other glaring issue is Domi taking on a top 6 center role. He just doesn't have the chops for it, especially on defence. Hope Berube realizes soon that his greatest utility is on Matthews wing.

Don't even want to start on our black hole of a third line. We'll be shopping for a competent 3C at the deadline yet again.

If Matthews comes back in his best form we can absolutely go on a run. We'll end up in the 2nd or 3rd Atlantic spot yet again because we can't start a season on time.

The last goal was not his fault but Woll has been off tonight.

The 1st goal against wasn't good.

The one that waived off wasn't good.

The 2nd and last goal were not his fault.

At the same time I can't really blame the defense when they only given up 17 shots.

We really need Woll to get above 500.

We can't have Stolarz being the only one going.

We also REALLY need Matthews back.

Our offence is so dry
They virtually are getting no depth through 17 games, it's a huge issue right now.. Stellar goaltending and quality d-zone play has kept them alive so far.

Our entire bottom 6 right now provides us nothing. We are legit a two line team right now, Treliving needs to find a way to acquire some scoring and quickly. It's been 17 games with the results below, "figuring out stage" passed us 7 games ago.

Holmberg = 1 point
Robertson = 1 point
Reaves = 1 point
Domi = 0 goals, 6 points
Loretnz = 3goals, 4 points.
McMann = 4 goals, 5points
Kampf = 3 assist, 3 points.

On top of that, the only reason they went on a mini run was the PP being able to score at will for those few games. Nothing about what they do is sustainable.

With the PP back to not scoring, they have no chance in these games.

Problem is, this is how you have to play to win in the playoffs, with the addition of actually scoring goals. I guess they have the season to figure it out, but they've had 8 post-seasons to figure it out already and still haven't... so kinda feels like we are trying to squeeze water from a rock.
