I'd imagine Habs fans are delighted to lose.

Meaningless to us, but Habs win and potentially big impact on their 1st round pick (this is assuming they still have it, unlike Ottawa)

The simplest explanation is he just didn't think about it, he just said what happened
Yeah could be it. I never listened to the clip but maybe he was just trying to give credit to his boss for the thoughtful gesture because IT WAS Dubas who made the call. Similar to if your coworker had a great idea and someone gave you credit for it. It would probably wrong to say "thanks" in front of your coworker.

Don't check the main boards, Habs players and fans are crying the the Leafs were "showboating"

Yeah, crazy how when Rielly's the PP QB they're only 2nd in the league! With Gus on the blueline they'd probably be at 50%!

Rielly does a great job of puck distribution and walking the blueline. A game against one of the worst teams in the league, with nothing to play for, a below average goalie, and a horrendous defense doesn't mean as much as you're making it out to be.

As for the game, it was a good complete game, glad some of our guys that have been cold/out lately had good games (Bunting, Orielly, Nylander in particular).

Keep rolling, and most importantly stay healthy! Looking forward to the real season starting soon.

2nd in the league, that's what TO can do with a good 1st half, good 3/4, what can/has TO done on the PP in the playoffs the last few years? Special teams have been TO's undoing in the playoffs and going into the game tonite I believe TO's PP record over the last 5 games was 1 for 14, as per HNIC graphic.

Since March 1 TO is 10 W and 9 L, another disturbing and yearly trend, special teams are again front and center in this, Riely doesn't PK much, TO's #1 d-man isn't used to PK, and he backs up a PP that can't score when it matters, he has been a key part of TO's PP shortcomings, TO has needed PP help late every year, that's why Sandin and Barrie were given auditions late in the seasons, that's why TO was trying an all forward PP.

So let's see Keefe has tried other d-men on the PP, the top PP and he is reluctant to use Rielly on the PK, not exactly what a coach should be doing with the #1 d-man.

How come when Rielly was injured our PP got worse then? PPs problem is they force everything to Matthews and Marner and those 2 play a 2 man game so PKers just game plan to shut them down. There's a reason why our 2nd unit usually looks good on the PP and that's because they actually move the puck around and use everyone because they aren't trying to force everything to a certain player.

I guess Wideman will get what he deserves when he can't crack an NHL lineup next year.
Never take anything serious from anyone from Missouri. Remember, they can't even decide if their state is called Missouri or Missoura lol.

Also, he probably said that to become an instant fan favorite in Montreal so they can't let him go for at least another year fcol.

I actually would like him back 1 more year. Just for the reception he'll (should) get in our barn ;)

If the Habs get the 1OA they might go off board since beddard doesn't speak French :sarcasm:
If they do get him I would be a bit sad. I don't think they would develop him properly. His natural talent is unstoppable, but they seem to have a knack of underdeveloped players. It's sink out swim in the Habs organization

St Louis turned Caufield’s career around, I imagine Bedard would be fine.

I'm sure too. You can't stop talent like that and yes St Louis is a great add, I'm just saying there is a track record there and could beddard be even better if he goes to a team with a better development system?
It can't be answered but I do wonder
