I thought it ironic that the 'talking heads' couldn't stop talking about the 'injury' Samsonov for a good pert of the second and the intermission.

Third period starts... no mention of who is in net. It took FIVE minutes of play until they acknowledged that Samsonov was even in net for the Leafs.

The Leafs drill the Habs, and some loser Montreal fan starts a "showboating" thread on the main board.

Yes, t'was a good night.

Another classy Habs fan:

Is there anything better than watching a putrid Montreal team get absolutely destroyed? That team has about a decade before they are relevant if at all. Just trash top to bottom

Obviously the Habs had nothing to play for, but come on man. It was enjoyable.

You'd have to be a fool to underrate the Lightning come playoff time, they very well could beat the pants off the Leafs...but it's not like Tampa is trying to avenge Montreal's "honor" or anything, they're playing to win for themselves and don't give two shits about Montreal.

This reads like a sore loser playing for a non-playoff team. Neither Toronto nor Tampa are going to be thinking about Montreal during their series, period.

I am still salty the NHL isn't giving Marner an assist on Matthews goal. A certain player in Edmonton gets assists if he breaths in the general direction of a puck.
I have no clue how they consider a puck bouncing off a leg as possession.
Somehow other team's top players pick up free points, while we get obvious points denied.
There was another point they robbed Marner of a couple weeks ago. He'd be at 100 already.

It didn't bounce off his leg. He clearly kicked it and it went to Matthews.
Call it whatever you want. Fact is it wasn't possession. They wouldn't count that as possession for offside or for calling a penalty, so why are they randomly counting it as possession to deny one of the best players in the game an earned point for a goal that was directly set up by the individual? McDavid gets that point, without a thought, especially if he's approaching a milestone.

I missed all the action and post-game commentary. Pretty funny to see Habs fans crying injustice due to too many goals were scored on them. 9 times out of 10 The Habs are up for a game against the Leafs.

I had a coworker who was one of those Habs fans that spent all his time thinking about the Leafs and following the Leafs. His personal Stanley Cup was when the Habs beat TOR in the Bubble series. Even knowing that MTL was facing cap problems and bad contracts in the near future, he was elated about MTL beating TOR. I hope he's f***ing crying in his pea soup at this moment.
