The thing that really grinds my gears seeing this dumb team blow 3-1 and 3-0 leads is they don't seem to have a game plan how to behave afterwards.

They seem to be stuck in some non game plan where they're neither hunting for a back breaking goal and pushing offense, or going into clock management mode where you do the pucks in deep, smash them up for a few shifts and kill the will to come back. They don't seem to be aware of how to hold a lead, management momentum or do anything.

One of the greatest feelings in hockey is watching your team suffocate the opposition and close out a decent lead, burn up the clock and go home happy. Keefe does not seem to have a game plan how to achieve this. He is a fool.

Agreed, I've been saying this all year as well.

No idea what Marner did this offseason, but he's lost 2 steps and he's 27 years old.

MacKinnon has the advantage of being athletically superior, being able to drive the play on his own.

He's simply better than Matthews.
Cool story bro

I feel it's a mistake to let Marner walk for nothing, but I believe the team would be better without him regardless of how that happens. If we re-up him, this core will never win the cup imo.

He might have more team success elsewhere, but he plays too important a role here for his soft and whishy play.
We are automatically losing if Marner stays here. The most unlikeable star on this team.

This is something the Jets have done extremely well this year. I think they have a good chance to advance to the west final.

marner has been complete shit this season and still continues to get prime minnutes.

when there is no accountability on teh team; it ain't a team anymore
Slowly things. Are being taken away from him we just need to see him on the third line or second line with knies bring Robertson in to play with nylander and matthews

I’m sorry, but I don’t see Mitch Marner as a guy you resign for $12m.

He’s talented but he’s not a smart player and he’s not someone you go to battle with in the playoffs.

He just doesn’t have it.

Mitch Marner falls into a similar category as a Johnny Gaudreau for me. He's a fun, skilled and often dominant player in the right circumstances but he's not going to out compete other big guns in a serious game. If it's an uncomfortable environment, he's not going to dig deep and persevere and gamebreak. If someone is motivated to push him out of the game, he's going to oblige. He's not that serious a player.

Fuuuuuuuuuuu that was a choke. Really sat back after the 3-0 lead, deserved to lose, Avs were faster and just better.

With that being said, we may have been able to eek out a somewhat underserved win if not for atrocious reffing. Cannot believe PPs were 4-1 Avs, there were SO MANY brutal no-calls. How the f*** do you not call that really nasty, insanely obvious crosscheck by Manson to the ribs of Matthews? This was one of the most one sided, poorly reffed game I’ve seen all season, easily top 2-3.

The Canucks are a new team with a new coach.

And how do you propose the Leafs change the core without making the team worse?

FWIW I do not believe the core cannot win or is not as good as we think. I believe the defense has never come close to matching the quality of our forwards and because of cap and inability to draft/develop D that issue has never been rectified in the Matthews era.

You can make moves that look like losses on "paper" but can also balance out your team and possibly add pieces in certain spots where you're currently weak and spots that are extremely important to winning 16 intense playoff games.

How much longer do you think we should continue to run with this same coach and same 4 forward taking up all the cap space? There has to be a breaking point and to be honest this organization has stuck with this build longer than any other professsional sports team I can remember and I watch ALOT of different sports.

I’ll have to take your word on that.
