Holmberg isn't getting much ice time for Sweden. He just had a sub 30 second shift... a shot and hit during it... but not much time to show much about him.

Ended the game with 5:52 of ice time... Not much to showcase himself, but I guess it's a good experience anyway.

I'm at work today so not gonna see much of anything.

Bummer on the ice time for him.

Hopefully our boys on team USA do well, I liked how they played vs Canada.

Knies with 1 more year of seasoning will be able to step into a top 9 role right after.

Abrusezze is probably ready to go pro after this season, he's wasting his time otherwise.

Knies and Abruzzese have played very well. It’s good to see them combine for that goal. The German’s, I’m not sure if this is a hockey team, or wrestling team.

No chemistry on the Staal, McTavish Ho Sang/McBain line. Neither Ho Sang, nor McBain are showing much.

As McBain gets more time with Staal and McTavish, he’s looking pretty good. Physical play, net front presence, decent skating and they are creating opportunities now. They need to start scoring as a unit though.

I think he signs now

What level of hockey would we say this Olympics is compaing to? AHL? KHL? Something else? It's really good to see Knies and Abruzzese playing well. It's always tough to project certain players and how they would fair up a level. Like if Abruzzese went to the AHL today. What kind of impact would he make? Some guys get it right away. Some need time to adjust.

I thought JHS looked dangerous a bunch of times. You can see the talent and tools.

Ho-Sang not doing himself many favours for an NHL contract in this tournament. I've been cheering for him big time, but truth is both Knies and Abruzzese have looked better. Not that they're about to make the jump right now, but I'd take a line of:
Knies-Tavares-Nylander
Or
Abruzzese-Tavares-Nylander

Before I took a line of:
Nylander-Tavares-Ho-Sang

Knies just scored

nice finish in front of the net

Abruzzese with the assist
Kid is going to be a legit beaut. Can’t wait to see him with Matthews and Marner in future; he’d be a great complement stylistically

I think CAD/US/SWE/FIN/ROC would be AHL-KHL calibre.

I'd say it's above that.

Is Team China not the entire Kunlan Red Star roster from the KHL? While not a great team, they are still getting absolutely blown out at the Olympics.

I look at Kunlan as a way for China to develop talent vs say a team like SKA which actually is a pretty competitive KHL club, ROC is kinda like a KHL all star team.

I would agree, This is kind of higher end KHL level play, depending on the team you are playing. A number of the Canadians are top talents in the KHL. It’s hard to handicap how this would compare to the AHL, but I don’t think the gap is as big as I used to think it would be. I think the KHL talent level isn’t what it once was.

Agreed. He's a very different prospect for us. One that we've all craved. A big bodied puck hound that has finishing skill. I really like Bunting...if he keeps building chemistry with Matthews and Marner and re-signs after next year, I think you leave Bunting-Matthews-Marner intact, and let Knies play with Tavares-Nylander. Think it might be the better fit too, as Tavares likes to work down low and in more of a cycle game, which I think would work really well with Knies. Matthews-Marner is a two man show that tries to operate off the rush, they just need a fearless retrieval guy, and Bunting provides that.
Of course I'm talking probably 2 years down the road
