I don't like to hate on somebody who is clearly trying their best and working their dream, but my god is this analyst annoying and boring. Reminds me of Greg Millen.
Colour analysts used to lace their chatter with clever funny wit and self-deprecating humour (eg. Harry Neale). Only Jim Ralph does this now. Every other "colour" guy is dry, humourless, and simply tells me in boring obvious terms what I already saw. I watch most games with the tv sound off.

What was "real nice" about the play man. Come on now....

JT's offensive instincts are alas going to be good his defensive play has been terrible; and I think it is because he cannot skate fast enough and plays center position

However I will say defensively they have been getting caved this game.

His options are to gamble on icing it or dumping it to center ice and having a rush the other away against a tired unit. 99/100 times that puck goes back to the D and they get a change and break out.

Thing is there wasn’t even a D back there. It was a stranded and gassed Tavares. I think the big sacrifice would be to rush it to the red line and roll it in deep.

Tbh I’d look at flipping Marner and nylander. As of now the lower two haven’t been doing well so try and get the big two to kick start them

At worst he takes a hit along the boards, but God forbid Nylander absorb one of those LOL

nah it’s not 99/100. We as leafs fans are so used to the LEAFS doing that play we think it’s the right play. But it’s not. If you watch other teams 99/100 the player will gain the line and dump it in. The leafs are unique in the fact that they like to keep possession, most teams do not operate like that

Nylander has the boards on one side and 2 forwards in front and beside him at his own blueline and more in the neutral zone, where is he supposed to go with the puck to gain center?

He's 1:30 into a shift of doing nothing but chasing people around the D-zone, the rest of the line is tired. If he tries to push it through 2-3 players and he gets taken out on the boards with an odd man rush the other way.

If it doesn't hit the ref that's a nothing play that happens many times a game.

Good Danforth Boy! Bring him home.

I wonder if he ever played in Ted Reeve Areana...... Every time I drive by there(my parents live on Danforth) I am like I wonder if any NHLers came out that arena...... That area is still such an old school area.... Still has a very 80s feel

thats my point. If JT line can score a goal but then give one (or more) away then thats not productive or net benefit. JT should realize that he isn't fast enough to play center anymore when league is getting faster and faster every year; he should just start playing wing and take center position in case of injuries

or Keefe could put JT on the 3rd line to get three offensive lines going. Willy is struggling and we need Nylander to keep firing on all cylinders. The amount of chances JT has missed that Willy fed him in the last few games is too many and JT has also been to slow to react in the defensive zone
