There's no alternate universe where these two aren't on this team. None. Plenty wouldn't have gone after Tavares, which is fine, but no matter what you do with that $ to improve depth, you need Matthews and Marner to be your best players.

No question about it, that isn’t even a bold comment. The best thing was for Babs to get fired so the excuses would evaporate and we could see what we really have. The coach was the least of the problems and this guy isn’t an upgrade so far.
