Ahh yes here it is...

Oh how I miss Wendel Clark :(

Wendel would've put his knuckles through draisatl's front teeth if he was out on patrol on that line. Big tough guy there eh? 6'4, 220 chasing down a slim 6' dude, real balls there

Oh no , now I got Grapes on my side lololol
Now I’m going to hear from all of you even more lolol
I used to go to the original Grapevine bar in Hamilton when I was there ...
Grapes and his bar fit right in with us in the Hammer ... lol
Go Friggen Leafs go
Let’s win with or without Hutch or AM of Train or Fred or Jack
Screw them , we win boys
Like mayne!! I'm like in my "real life" not internet life hearing a lot of this grabes thang going on.. like they think like I'm thinking exactly like that real man. And I is of course. :thumb up: Like that man knows his thang and ice hockey sire. But you aint' gotta worry bout a damn thang mayne. I'm keeping it real like cherry is. I still listen to his and his children's podcast. They cool and knowing everythang. Learned a lot from those peeps. I'm cool with them. I'm also like 99% of the time the same opinion as cherry is. We that hard sire.

Yes Kordic-Courtnall one of the worst trade in Leafs history. Wilson, Simmonds, Foligno and Woods are not Kordic. They can play and keep up with Matthews and Marner while protecting them. I agree with salting that we are a tougher team than the way we are perceived, it's a different kind of toughness but like I said I'm petty. I still think Wilson is worth 2 1st +, just my opinion.
Here here

Has Simpson ever said why he didn't want to be drafted by the Leafs?
Can't confirm exactly but the Leafs were a laughing stock at the time, and Harold Ballard was the biggest dickhead of an owner, basically a worse version of Jerry Jones ... 10x worse.

Don't care what his reasons were but it was always about Wendel that year so no one cares. my god could this team ever use a Wendel Clark right now, honestly could be the guy who would put this team over the top into true cup favorites

Two 1st + for a guy who’s never hit 25 goals or 50 points??

For real?

Man oh man do we have the injury bug. I just hope they get this outta their system before the playoffs. Don't care about anyone's regular season stats, just win boys.

Maple Leafs' Wendel Clark was No. 1 with a mullet | Toronto Sun

Toronto’s failure to provide proper framework for its youth did not escape the notice of top prospects or their agents. University of Denver defenceman Craig Redmond and agent Alan Eagleson sent the Leafs a letter in the spring of ’84, warning Redmond would go back to school rather than report.

As the ’85 draft approached, three good options at No. 1 presented themselves: Clark, scoring forward; winger Craig Simpson of Michigan State University; and defenceman Dana Murzyn of the WHL Calgary Wranglers.

Simpson’s 84 points in 42 games stood out and he was the most polished of the group during interviews. But Simpson and his parents had numerous concerns about Ballard and the Leafs operation, seeing all the shenanigans unfold from their home in London, Ont.

“So Gerry went to have dinner with Craig’s family to see if we could fix it,” Gord Stellick recalled. “When I asked him how it went, he said, ‘Gord, imagine the worst dinner you’ve ever been to and multiply it by 10.’ ”

Clark had no such qualms about life as a Leaf.

“I did read about all the other stuff, but didn’t pay too much attention,” said Clark. “I was an 18-year-old kid leaving junior hockey and the thought of being picked first overall, no matter by who, was going to be an honour more than anything else."

“I was just worried about trying to make it to the next level.”

Agent Don Meehan agreed Clark had little time for the soap opera about who wanted to go or stay.

He was a conservative young man, who deep down, wanted to go first to the Leafs. His GM in Saskatoon, Daryl Lubiniecki, was a huge Leafs fan and all our conversations with the Leafs leading to the draft were quite positive. Leafs fans had read a lot about Wendel and the fans were anxious to see him.”

I really hope Hutch pulls out the Potvin mask.
. He was my idol as a kid... I want to see that mask in a leafs uniform again!.

I heard he rocks that mask in practice.

Predicting another big win tonight. Team is rolling, next man up mentality. Reminds me of those good ass Raptors teams ala 2018-2019
