Yeah let's end that PP experiment. If the 5th forward was Panarin rather than Bunting, then sure, go for it. But Bunting isn't a difference maker on the PP

Why would you take Sandin off the top PP and put in 5 forwards? Sandin is really good at distributing the puck on the point.
Caps broadcast is savage right now.

Since Marners point streak he has reverted back to soft-on-the-puck hockey.
This is the problem whenfans and media throwing glowing praise, even when his decisions have been poor.
The whole team was playing strong hockey early in their win streak, not of late. If ttheteam loses sight of team goals it will he another short playoff, from Marner on out.

The Leafs badly need a LWer as soon as possible. You can't have Malgin and Kerfoot be your middle 6 LWers and expect it to work out

He hasn't been good at all. The Leafs PP has been pretty meh with him.

Defeat does not rest lightly on their shoulders
This sloppy play is a Bi-product that started way back against the Stars and has gradually seeped into our recent play especially the last 2 games and this 1St period.
Winning is great but sometimes it has a nasty habit of masking some deficiencies along the way .
Slowly our Pp has been silent and predictable.
Our defensive play has been leaking and our work ethic has slowly dipped .
And the kicker is that our bottom 6 , when not scoring are actually a liability ( Kampf and Holmberg excluded ( as they always work their asses off .
We can’t have 62 on this team
We can’t have 47 losing puck battles everywhere to players smaller and lighter than him.
We can’t have all these chances to score for 15 and 12 and 47 and them literally having feeble attempts at actually scoring , choosing or just because it’s their nature to not play hard every shift ????? ( mostly Likely ) …
We are always exposed by bigger hungrier , hard playing veteran man teams especially with their bottom 6
It always bites us in the ass no matter what we do .
So let’s stop the charade and move these deficient players out and replace them with players that we glaringly and desperately need .

It's so dumb. Sometimes the puck gets turned over and you need actual defenders there.
The 5 forwards thing is a geek-filled EA sports day dream.

It's the first time in the history of the game a goalie has ever let in a deflection, Sam sucks!. That comment sby the caps broadcasters says more about the quality of the commentators than it does about the quality of Sam's goaltending. It's just a stupid uneducated comment TBH. What are ya gonna do?
