Poor coaching
Too many passes (pass the puck all the way past the goal line)
Poor team defense
Dumb penalties from Kerfoot (hey...the guy is consistent)
Not so good goaltending
Just shite

Meh, we were due for a stinker. This team has been on fire. If anyone is truly upset than I feel bad for you. The team is still sick and Sammy is still a good tendy. This wasn’t an important game at all lol

BTW, Matthews was a +1, for all the unfair "when will Matthews break out" posts we see from time to time. If the entire team played like Matthews, we'd already have had some playoff success IMO.

The book where they get outplayed and hope their goalie has a really good night while ours does not?

It is a really bad plan, even if it works out far more often than it should.

Matthews line was out for that 4th goal. We were in a position to win until that happened. But otherwise, his line wasn't the problem. Marner was bad. Tavares and Malgin at least had chances but they didn't convert and therefore the line was a net negative. 4th line had a worse game than normal. 3rd line was excellent though. Too many turnovers from Sandin, some really nice passing from Washington, a shaky Samsonov, and some bad bounces killed us defensively.

I'd swap Malgin and Anderson. I wanted Anderson at 2LW to start the year, and Malgin is much better when he is driving a line with the puck on his stick (which doesn't happen with Marner on his line). Anderson can compliment the 2nd line better, and Malgin makes the 4th line more dynamic. Win-win.

The rest comes down to better execution.

I don’t get this pissed often any more , but Phuqque man , I’m tired of excuses and apologies and explanations and lessons learned
Again , not the outcome as it’s hard to win in this league , but the try and more importantly the Giving up and being man handled all over the ice every shift without response is just too much for me , it really is .
I’m Phuqquing tired of watching a handful of players on this team floating and being afraid out there and being out toughed all the time
I hate rooting for a team without balls and weak minded and giving up !!!
That’s not what our franchise is supposed to be known for ..
We at least for the most part in the 100 or so years we had pushback and toughness right from the very first year .
But this
Man it’s tough to root for this team

That's the difference this year with the Leafs compared to previous seasons. So far they've been getting above average to great goaltending from both Murray and Samsonov and its allowed them to win some games that they might otherwise have lost. Both have recently had a couple of iffy games now so lets hope its not a trend and just the usual season ups and downs that players have.

I know the feeling. But we also know that it is an 82 game season. We just dominated for so long. We going to hit a rut. We now know what this team is capable of. Let's get back on track Leafs.

I'd say the Calgary game probably had some signs of downfall. Usually the winning formula gets a bit contaminated but you still get a lucky bounce here and there. Time to regroup and start another winning streak.

I haven't seen any posts talking about a Dubas extension. He obviously should have been extended already, but it's not going to randomly happen in December at this point.
 
October Leafs are baaaaaaack!!!! So what they had a points streak going if they're just going to go on a losing streak as a followup.

Terrible game once again!!! They didn't come to play hockey. They were completely asleep at the start of the third period.

The only positive is that they didn't allow Ovechkin to pass Howe!!!

Compare it to the Maple Leaf hockey legacy carved out by the hard men who are enshrined in bronze outside the rink - I simply can't watch this version of the Maple Leafs anymore. Done.

Impressed it's only 3 pages after their second loss in a row :laugh:

Need a stinker now and then to regain some focus .. They weren't entirely out of it. Had they tied it late in the second on one of those chances this changes the game. That early 3rd period goal sunk them.
 
The Leafs are done. They will be lucky to make the playoffs. Goaltending is trash. Murray is f***ing awful, i don’t care what anyone says, and tonight Samsonov Looking like the back up he is. I won’t be surprised if this team misses the playoffs.
