trading for ryan o'reilly was just for jokes?

that was a shot at dreger, btw. the leafs have been for all intents and purposes all-in for many years now, this is a dumb click bait headline.

They flirted with all in that year but didn't truly go all in.

Sure they traded a couple 1sts, they also got one back.

You can't be TRULY all in if you are recouping draft picks

He does the exact opposite of shill for the Leafs when it comes to Mitch. He deepthroats Paul Marner and then begs for more.

...thanks for getting THAT image stuck in my head, amigo...

OP has a history of posting these threads with no source and sensationalising the content. OP can you post the timestamp where Dreger says the Leafs are going all in?

Because Dreger says very little of anything in his radio hits. I would suspect he was just speculating and not reporting something he heard. Being all in also goes against Brad's preferences at the TDL. This is likely nothing more than a TSN reporter talking to a TSN station and trying to get people interested in the TSN trade deadline show

What do the Leafs even need ? They seem to be in a decent spot
1. Another top 6 center, as Tavares is really underwhelming in the playoffs

2. A top 4D ideally RHD to play with Rielly

3. Top 6 LW for the 2nd line

Now we wont be getting all those. But ideally can get atleast 1 of the 3 and then another one at lower target range (3rd line center or 3rd line LW or #5D who can step up decently in top 4 role)

They better be Marner is leaving, Tanev, Tavares, OEL and Reilly aint getting younger. Whats the all in move?

Marchand? Vejmelka? Provorov? Nelson? Schenn?

This is their year.

Caps are unproven.
Florida lost players now Tkachuk is injured.
Canes took a step back.

Jets have proven nothing.
Colorado isn't as good as their cup winning year.
Edmonton is very up and down and deep runs can take a lot out of you.
Vegas is great, a true threat with experience, but that's about it.

If they're gonna get it done, this is the year.
Leafs fans say this every year against their competition and then proceed to lose every year against said competition.

Why would it be different now?

Even if they went "all-in", Leaf fans know how it would pan out. They would either...

- Lose to the Bruins (second wildcard) in 7
- Beat the Lightning in 6 or 7, only to get steamrolled by the Panthers in 4 or 5
- Lose to a team with no pressure (Sens or Wings) in 6 or 7

But seriously, Treliving would have Cowen, Danford, Robertson, their 2nd and 3rd this year, and their 1st next year to work with it.

Because these are the last prime years of the core with a weakened east and west.

They should add some depth but the leafs are in better shape than they been in 20 years. Goaltending problem: solved. Defensive depth: solved. Cheap contracts scoring over 20 goals: solved. Matthews and Marner not being p***yes: solved. I think they are going on a run this year and I'll keep saying it. Don't what "all in" means, if that means they are going to try to acquire a big name I don't know with what assets that will happen.

Zero percent chance the leafs are all in.
99 percent chance they're all in.

The big dogs in the Atlantic are the weakest they've ever been. Boston declining, Tampa declining, Tkachuk injury could potentially be a massive blow to Florida. Although Ottawa is on the rise, Toronto is the strongest they've been in the Matthews era and our rivals are the weakest.

It absolutely is the time to go all in. The players have bought into Berube's system and are finding success playing the right way. Our "soft" core guys are getting physical, hitting, battling for pucks and getting in front of the net. Matthews has been regularly PKing now as well.

We have very steady goaltending with Woll/Stolarz

McCabe/Tanev have been rocks on the blue line

Offence doesn't need an explanation

Ideally we are looking for a 3C with the ability to move up into the 2C role if needed. If there's a big fish out there we should be looking to add him as well, great chance to make a deep run this year.
