Just looked up The Vault episodes. One that i remember watching was the Rangers playing in an outdoor game in Las Vegas in 1991. Another one that i don't remember seeing but would love to watch was Ranger Brawls, best brawls in their history.

I've missed having him around the past few years. He was truly a connoisseur of all things NY, while being a bit of a jokester. A jack of all trades kind of guy when it came to broadcasting. You don't see that anymore.

RIP Al. I met him when he did the Rangers 94 reunion special. He was a unique part of the ranger family and will be missed.

Probably Bill Daughtery.

Bob Page was the best on Sportsdesk and would tell it like it is. Then MSG sanitized itself with simple propaganda.

and @Whoot Whoot it depends which era; Bob Page did it from 1988-1998. He was the Caucasian guy with black hair who was very sarcastic and had the voice that sounded like he was narrating Larry Brooks's articles. He was a Detroit guy who went back after Dolan dismissed him for being too opinionated and sarcastic and did college football and local sports talk and now is retired in Florida. He's on X a lot and still occasionally podcasts. He's still very opinionated and sarcastic. Very surprised he hasn't chimed in on Al yet.

Bill Daughtery was the African American guy with glasses who took over after Bob Page. He did it from around 1998-2003ish before Sportsdesk ended. He was like the anti Page; calm/even keeled. The most "emotional" he ever got was during one of those dark ages years at the end of the season when he said something like "I guess next year we should temper our expectations when the Rangers sign free agents until they can have a full rebuild".

I'll write about Al in a minute.

I watched a game from 2001 a few years ago, and a young Al Trautwig and an old Stan Fischler. Man, that brings back memories. RIP Al!

Eh it's not really right to joke about in my opinion. Look, I very much dislike Stan Fischler for many reasons both as a fan in the late 80s/early 90s and when I applied for an internship with him in the early 2000s and he was very crabby on the phone to a young kid who just wanted to get into hockey, but let him enjoy the later years and tweet. He doesn't even live in the NY area anymore.

I found out the first external counsel I worked with in my first legit job passed away, he was around Al's age. And two financial analysts for a competitor both young parents died a few weeks back in an accident. Life is short and goes by quick.
