Prime example of talking about a player you know nothing about.

" a 22 YEAR OLD dman was bad under a coach(who had the team hitting record breaking lows the next few deasons) during game 7 of the playoffs"

So it was Carlyle's fault Jake Gardiner just wasn't very good.

Ive literally said I was being sarcastic with the Orr comment.

Why is it ok for Bruins fans to comment on a player they know nothing about but Leaf fans who supposedly don't know anything can't?

Says the guy whose first comment in the thread is "LMAO Gardiner would instantly, easily be the Bruins best defenseman"

Oh really? Tell me then, who is going to be a top pairing guy out of that group?

They're going to trade for a future superstar, draft-day steal like Matt Finn, who we heard so much about before he was dumped off for nothing. Or Stuart Percy.

The Bruins drafted 5 defensemen in the top two rounds in the past two years, including two in the top-14.

Top pairing doesnt equal franchise d man, or even #1.

I think Macavoy has a great shot at being a top pairing guy, and I wouldnt write off Zboril yet either.

To suggest the Bruins have "no top pairing guys" when theyve drafted 4 in the top two rounds the last two years is ridiculous. They alll have a lot of potential.

McAvoy I could easily see becoming a top pairing guy. I was really hoping the Leafs would trade up this draft and get him.

Carlyle's system didn't help that's for sure. But either way, who cares how good/bad 22 year old Gardiner was; we're talking about the player he is now. You have a 6'9 d-man on your own team that was pretty bad when he was 22 remember.

the 6'-9" D man at 22 was never bad, that is why at that age he would have played for every team in the NHL because he was coveted, I can't say Jake Gardiner is coveted by every team in the NHL , now we are not talking about Morgan Reilly, who is coveted by pretty well every team.

Those are your words, not mine.

...you still haven't named anyone, but solid post referring to 2 prospects who aren't even with the organization...

I'm not comparing Gardiner to Chara obviously. Gardiner will never be in the same league as Chara, that much is clear. But Chara was most certainly not a good d-man when he broke into the league. He's was a huge project and was not coveted like Rielly is, not even close. The Islanders had no idea that kind of potential existed in him or they clearly wouldn't have traded him as a secondary piece in the Yashin deal.

Cool. Thanks

You're the expert on the Bruins defense and prospects. Give us the full rundown of the dozen defensemen in the organization, strengths, weaknesses and how they stack up to Jake Gardiner. Do it for the roster too.

You've obviously done the homework.
