Not sure about that, I work around the city as a sales rep and see way more Leafs gear and hear more Leaf buzz. Ticket prices are higher and so are TV ratings. If the Leafs make the Conference finals you won't get a seat on game night at a Downtown bar unless you arrive before 5pm. Raptor hype wasn't quite that crazy. Never mind a cup parade, if the Leafs make the Stanley Cup finals, there will already be a parade.
I could be wrong, but that relates to my point about it meaning more to Leaf fans and us being more passionate on average.

More willing to pay higher ticket prices (even if we hate doing so), wait for hours before the game to get a better view, and more emotionally invested (through good and bad times).

Wither way its a pretty moot point. I think we can all agree that Toronto is a passionate sports city.

Just posting in legendary thread. Couldn't watch because I was at work, caught the third on break, go leafs go baby. Now slay this second demon before she even starts ;).

I agree. If the Leafs win the Cup, I am
Flying my whole family to TO for the parade.
I remember the 93 Cup run with Clark and Gilmour, almost every car in the GTA had a leaf flag and on game days bars were overflowing and Leaf jerseys were everywhere. Can't wat to see that again!

The sweet isn't as sweet without the bitter. This team made me proud to be a Leaf fan tonight. Samsonov was laser focused, Schenn and McCabe were bringing the physicality, and our superstars did superstar things.

Knies is an absolute revelation, my goodness and his first taste of hockey with this team is a series win... how big is that for the kid's confidence?

Fun exercise: In all of the slow mo replays of people cheering, count how many people, from players to coaches to Dubas, mouthed "FINALLY!". There are quite a few. It's pretty funny.

Yes, those Blue Jay and Raptor championships were amazing and unforgettable, let's hope the Leafs can get one for us too!

Both Stamkos and Cooper think that Tampa was even better this year than they were last year in the playoffs. I'm going to choose to believe that and believe that the Leafs just beat a legit championship caliber team and not feel so bad about Tampa looking like the better team for a lot of this series.

I kinda agree. Leafs were the better team last year, but TB got all the breaks. On paper the Leafs are a better team this year vs last year, but they didn't drive as much play, and just sorta hung around in games, and got all the lucky breaks. Last year we get a phantom high stick call that ruined us, this year we get the no call on a highstick. TB was hungry and showed up every game, except game 2, I can't say the Leafs showed the same compete, they mostly relied on skill to out score their problems.
