I think Holl on third pair would be totally fine to keep in. He just needs to be coached to play within his actual game. We don’t need him trying to play offense all the time.

He is solid on the PK, and that has value.

In that case, they could waive Holl and get the requisite cap space that way. 1.1m or so. It doesn’t have to be a trade.

Why waive and lose a solid player when you could just trade that player instead? And for Murray to come off LTIR, the player would have to be waived the previous day.

Agreed, if he's going down, he's going down swinging. And to be honest he's provided enough talent and depth. At this point, it's on the players to get the job done. If they lose. obviously Dubas will be at fault, as will every part of the team. But at this point I'd really point the finger at the players the most if the team fails.

Indeed he is. Everyone that's been mocking Dubas, calling him names etc. will hopefully give it a rest.

I knew they would do something else, I was expecting another bottom 6 forward and another depth Dman but McCabe, FML this is amazing. Probably the best trade Dubas has made so far!

I believe so. He's gone a phenomenal job with this roster and he's given them all the pieces they need now. The boys need to figure it out. If they lose it's on Keefe and the players. I think Dubas has made all the right moves, he addressed every major need and the ROR addition is just massive.

what type of player is McCabe? Does anyone know if he is physical or PKs?

Hawk fan here.
McCabe was bum last year but much better this year. Physical? Not so much. Makes at least one bone head play a game but again that's on the Hawks. Does PK and good shot blocker. Better suited for 4/5 role. Will be steady influence.
Lafferty? Love the guy. Great skater, checks and can score. O threat on PK and if not mistaken, good of draws.
