I agree 100% but if I am the Hawks GM even if this deal was in the works, you got to ask for a bit more after the Jeannot's deal. That one was just a silly outlier. The other deals - ROR, Orlov, Meier, etc have all been reasonable.
What’s fascinating about McCabe – whether you are watching video or looking at this data – is that prior to this season, most of what distinguished himself as a player was his ability to suppress activity in front of the goaltender, limiting teams to one-and-done attacking sequences and protecting the interior. But McCabe is seeing real outperformance in the offensive zone this season, perhaps owing to playing with the very few Blackhawks forwards (e.g. Patrick Kane, Max Domi) who can threaten a defence.
does it really matter that much . lolAnyone know what the conditions are on the two 5ths?
Guy who showed some initial promise with the Marlies and then dropped off a cliff.Who is Pavel Gogolev ?
Thanks, bro.As a Hawks fan, you got 2 of our, if not most, almost most consistent performers game in and game out. Lafferty will be great on 4th line and PK.
Good luck in the playoffs!
Kerfoot + Holl + whatever for Garland retained + Schenn and we are good to go
That could be the last one sire.Kerfoot + Holl + whatever for Garland retained + Schenn and we are good to go
This is Dubas's all in year, and it can't really be any other way. If the leafs lose in the first round again he probably won't get a contract extension and that would likely be it for him as an NHL gm.

He gon stud us up for real sire. And for lifeJake Mccabe is +7 playing 20 minutes a night on a team with -62 goal differential.
That's remarkable.
Two almost useless assets will need a huge plus to get a retained Garland.
I forgot McCabe was able to play the right side.Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Kerfoot* - Tavares - Nylander
Engvall - O’Rielly - Jarnkrok*
Lafferty - Kampf - Acciari
Knies*
Rielly - McCabe
Giordano - Liljegren
Sandin - Brodie
Holl & Timmins
A bit more gangsta and feisty zeisty too sireIsn't Garland basically just a more expensive Kerfoot?

The positives is that while he gave up a ton of assets, they were for pieces that make the leafs considerably better for the upcoming playoffs. Playoff stalwart O'rielly and two "playoff style" depth players (albeit with no playoff experience.) Tampa hasn't done nearly as much yet, other than one of the most baffling trades I've ever freaking seen.
The negatives is what will happen if the leafs still lose in the first freaking round. Dubas will be fired and the new gm is taking over a team with pretty much NO picks for the foreseeable future and (lets face it... although many of you will surely deny it) a pretty lackluster prospect pool. Oh, and all the skilled cores contracts are up in a year or two.
And if the leafs lose again, Dubas is fired, and the media erupts in flat out hysterics... are all 3 of the young core really gonna want to stay and be a part of this? I think if the leafs lose in the first round things will go REALLY badly. Like, Harold Ballard years bad. This is probably the most important leaf playoff series since the 1967 finals vs Montreal.
Then..?
Anyone know what the conditions are on the two 5ths?
Maybe this was the best offer they were getting for these guysWas the Hawks GM under a rock for the past two days?
Honestly, after looking at what Nash got for Jeannot, how can you make this trade with the Leafs.
We may have had better luck with him if his name wasGuy who showed some initial promise with the Marlies and then dropped off a cliff.
