To me, I think that you have to trade Murray if possible.

You've got 22 games left in the season and you want Samsonov to start a majority of them. Call it 14-17 games for Sammy for the rest of the season. That leaves Murray to play the balance.

Do you have confidence that: A) Murray can return to any reasonable playoff style goaltending if needed and B) Do you trust him to even be healthy if he were to be called upon.

If anything, I'd be looking at Joonas Korpisalo as a swap. You get a guy that is going to give you similar numbers at a lower hit and then you can re-assess in the offseason if you want to keep Samsonov.
