Guys I'm not shitting in the signing but the clap bomb thing is being overvalued by you guys.
Tyson Barrie had one and most of you hated him while he was here and that's primarily because he was unloading it from the blueline. The slapshot only matters if f he's allowed to play the way he did in Tampa.
1. Roam in the zone and pinch in and shoot it closer to the tops of the face off circles and in the middle of the ice. For this to work, the guy covering for him needs to be a good defensively IN TRANSITION in case plays break down, shots get blocked leading to weird bounces and odd man rushes. The upsdie of Raddysh being an RHD though is that, finding a LHD that is good at this is much easier - and cheaper, than finding an RHD that is good at this.. Colorado and Tampa both do a good job of allowing their dmen to do this. If you watched that highlight reel of Raddysh's goals, most of them are coming from the area in between the faceoff circles and several feet INSIDE the blueline.
2. We have an offensive zone cycle and/or PP that focuses down low to give Raddysh space to operate.
I'm still of the opinion that the point shot is worthless, if you can just have a system that lets a guy like a Raddysh move in a few feet, it's fine. But I don't want to see him launching clap bombs from left blueline unless the situation calls for it.
