Looks like standing up for your teammates really does give a team heart and wings to sustain their effort even though we were faced with 6 penalties by the NHL’s most offensively dominant squad.

That bulldog charge by Domi was quite the reaction, and at first I wasn’t sure if taking that penalty was such a wise move, but this team seemed to benefit from the vitriol and chippy play and step up their game to a higher level.

The outcome was a breath of fresh air, and I hope they keep playing with that same passion because it seems to be working for them. We saw players coming up big that were silent before and its hard to argue against the new approach.

Good job Leafs, and I dare say it… good job coach.
Always take the penalty to stand up for a teammate. Always...

i understand your sentiments but I respectfully have to add a couple things that your post is missing

1. F the habs

2. F the bruins

aaaaahhhh...... that felt good!!!
Fair enough.

But if I'm f'n anyone.........

wait, yeah it's probably a chick from Montreal........

Wait....no I think I'm on point here.

It's a confusing situation. But the Habs are less a threat than the Bruins? I guess that's what I'm saying (and also probably true about Montreal vs. Boston women but that is not appropriate at all!)

Still want more than one game... but so far it looks like Reaves was holding Kampf back which is what I wanted to see.

Thought the whole team played well for the most part.

Klingberg needs to make decisions faster, and better, but he played better than usual, so that is a good sign, hoping he can build on it.

Lagesson I thought didn't look great tonight.

Some depth scoring is nice.

WHAT?

Kampf started as a 3C and didn't play with Reaves until Domi was put as a 3C with Kampf at 4C

Matthews and Marner was trash tonight
I was watching the game with a Canucks fan who is a friend for 20+ years and I asked him at the beginning of the 3rd if he had noticed Matthews and Marner at all. He said no.

That is the first game in awhile where they were invisible. Matthews usually looks dangerous even if he doesn't score and Marner is always a factor. Tonight it was like they didn't dress.

Kampf started as 4C... 4th line sucked and was moved to 3C... that line also sucked, but I blame Kampf for that because he shouldn't be 3C with two offensive players... and then he went back to 4C.

This is the best the 4th line has looked and Kampf has looked, and I don't think it is a coincidence, but we will see.

Even yesterdays' game, he looked off. I am wondering if they are battling anything

Samsonov was good tonight. Do you go back to him next game? Weird dynamic now between him and Woll. Neither one's put a solid streak together.

He was alright. He wasn't bad, but it's not like he had to make a lot of tough saves. No breakaways, no odd man rushes. Leafs gave him a lot of early PKs to work out. He had a couple soft easy shots rebound off of him like he was made of rubber, but the Leafs cleaned it up for him. It's good that he was at least solid though.

I'd go back to Woll personally.

*Impressive display by our LW players tonight. Bert fits well with JT, Knies is such a strong young lad, Robertson darts and scores, Gregor...who knew.
*Said it early here and I'll say it again, Gio.
*I'd like to know how much ice Rielly covered tonight.
*Sammy with his most 'controlled' game of the season.
*I am gaining appreciation for Lagesson, he's pretty safe and adds some weight to the D.

I thought the coaches did a good job of managing the ice time for the D. Nobody looked gassed at the end of the game, and off a B2B, that's impressive. Helps that the F group seemed a bit more invested in supporting the D...and Reaves.

Bert and Domi are starting to settle into their new roles. Esp Domi, really like how he jumped in and defend Robbie.
For the first time since the TB series, this team played like a pack.

Also, read somewhere that having McCabe in the lineup, Leafs is 7-2. Didn’t McCabe had a stats when he first came that nobody can score 5v5 when he is on
