On this day, 30 years ago, the leafs lost to Minn North Stars..
What might make you smile however is the parade to the penalty box that game. Happy Birthday
Detroit to Chicago and then the North Stars and then back home

Lots of blood, bruises, and stitches on those trips, and some pretty intense hockey.

I was just born!!

Can’t imagine being a fan from the 70s or 80s, yea you get the fun of the 90s team being super likeable and the 2000s of the team being the underdog story. But watching those teams fall short, along with the late 2000s and early 2010s teams must’ve been brutal. My brother was a fan but I wasn’t, dude would be preaching dion phaneuf lol

While Teeder and I, and probably a couple of others, watched them win four Cups.

Well said.
I wasn’t even close to being born…
Gilmour was even early for me

I was born in 1973, so this group of fans includes me. The 80's Leafs were in fact a joke. Being in Windsor, was lucky the Wings were just as much a joke until the late 80s. That is why it kind of makes me laugh seeing all these sky is falling posts when things go a little sour.
It's pretty cool to see how diverse everyone's ages are. We are all at different points in life, come from different backgrounds and experiences, yet here we are cheering and posting for the blue and white

It's one of the reasons I like this place. We may overreact to a random 2-1 loss on a Monday where we outshoot the opponent 50-2, but it's a fun time with people whose unique experiences have helped shape their perspectives on hockey

I'm 35 I was 17 last time the Leafs won a series my best memory is the 2002 run.

I remember that run especially the NYI series Shane Corson shut Yashin DOWN

It is probably the greatest part about being a Leafs fan to be honest. Have met so many people that I probably would've never connected with otherwise simply out of love for this team.

The first computer I really worked on was an IBM at Waterloo, the same as the one NASA had used to put a man on the moon three years earlier.

It had one meg of ram.

I learned this lesson when I went to college. My grandfather aged landlord asked me what I was doing and I said computer stuff because I assumed old meant they didn't understand it. Turns out he worked for NASA as a computer programmer and a bunch of other crazy jobs when he was much younger.

Valuable lesson, don't judge a book by their cover you never know what knowledge life has given them!

Didn't realize how many 50+ folks are on this board  The passion that really does unite us all eh fellas
I'll be joining that group in 2025!! Clearly not changing allegiances now. Bleeding blue to the end of (my) time.

I am with the majority here that have not seen the Leafs win a cup... so let's get that taken care of mmmkay?

If Bettman was smart, he’d stop calling the refs or Marc Jacobs ahem Bruins…to tilt the ice against us like in the playoffs, or calling a goal against.

Raptors won 1 championship and raptors gear everywhere… now they don’t even have a contending team and people love the merch.

Imagine the leafs, in Toronto. Everyone from teens to twenties all the way to boomers would by hyped and dropping crazy amounts of money!!! I mean we are subsidizing like a fourth of those southern US teams.
