something definitely seems fishy about this
To Leafs:
Luongo
To Canucks:
Kessel
Rielly
Gardiner
Nonis then retires as GM and joins Canucks management and states that his plan has worked.

TSN basically thinks it's cause Nonis is more of a corporate guy and ownership just didn't like Burke's style. Nonis was a big factor in a lot of the Leafs moves the last few years, and he's going to manage the team similar to Burke did so it basically comes down to Burke's personality.
Whether you buy that or not......

Comes down to one party wanting to get Luongo, one party didn't probably .. I don't buy that whole other crap, the Leafs are under so much pressure to make the playoffs. Especially with a new ownership group in place, they want to see results .. Or at least something they know that can sustain success
I like Nonis, he's a good replacement .. Weird that Burke is still with the team though, it's like a reshuffling or something![]()
Anyone else think this is just a tip of the iceberg of the ****storm that's about to hit within the next week and a half?
My gut is telling me, something bad is going to happen going forward.
I think it's more so that Nonis is a quieter guy. Burke is a loud man, and he has his strong opinions. Nonis isn't like that.

Trade wise in specific
Precisely.
I really hope it doesn't come down to Luongo. That's such a ****ing dumb idea to fire a GM over one ****ing player, especially one with a terrible contract, one player that we don't even know if he'll vault us into the playoffs.

Nonis is pretty patient. I do think there's a good chance he'll trade for Lu, but then after that he won't do much for awhile.
Mine too .. Oh boy
Favourite part about this ordeal is that Burke haters are ****ing ecstatic that he got fired without realizing that Nonis will likely run the team similar to Burke did. Just go back to the Canucks thread and read the thoughts about Nonis. Sounds a lot like Burke, doesn't it?
That's just it. There's a reason why Burke hired Nonis too. He's exactly like him. People just dislike Burke because he stood up for what he believed in, he's opinionated to the max, just like Don Cherry. People dislike Don Cherry just because he goes against the grain.
Funny thing is people are so happy without realizing the leader might have been replaced but they have the same game plan
Blind hate is insane.
Bet all my vCash, I could go broke tonight!
Who keeps making the ostrich fetus tag?![]()
Maybe. I think he might push for a #1 centre though too.
Oh boy is right buddy.. Thunder buddies for life?![]()
Exactly man. Blind hate is insane, specially when it's towards Burke.
Hodge says that he got told that the team wouldn't play a game with Burke being the GM.
