Le sigh. On to the next. Kings lose to MIN 4-1

Bad start doomed us, we controlled the game and probably deserved a better fate the rest of the way. If Brodin doesn't wave his magic wand and/or we get to one more loose puck, we're complaining about another OT loss instead :sarcasm:

COULD still finish this roadie 4-1 which would be excellent. Wild just have all sorts of voodoo right now.

My biggest concern is macro, not on the game, Doughty looks completely fried. i feel for him, but I'd literally rather have him scratched/rested a game than the shell he was tonight.

Oh, and I knew when suter got away with that crosscheck but we took the next penalty it would be a goal. Thats' happened all year.

Well Chicago won't be any easier. Thankfully there's still two games against the Oilers

Nothing comes easy at this point. Dallas needed a win vs. the Oil to literally stay alive in the race and got bombed 4-0.

I know, it's Dallas, but I hope to goodness we don't let down after this road trip just because, ya know?

You know what? I went back and that's a borderline dive on Suter. Not worth complaining about now and I can see why it wasn't called, but he knew the refs were looking that way after the crosscheck and instead of hopping 'out' of the trip which would have been easy he hopped as if Toffoli lifted his leg. It is what it is, just a bad break in a tight game.

I thought he sold it, Looked like he did a little gallop just to get the refs attention. The Kings shouldn't have got themselves into that situation chasing the game. That 5-3 poke check /deflection made all the difference.

Credit the wild though, they played well, especially b2b. That building sounded loud too!

I said the exact same thing on the replay. Suter sold the **** out of that and the refs bought it. Toffoli makes zero effort to impede Suter in that situation. His stick was just in the worst possible position. Suter knew it, felt the blade in his skate and sold the trip. A damn shame the refs bought it but whatever.

It wasn't even the worst call in the game. The Wild penalty killer that played the puck out of their zone with an obviously broken stick should been an auto-call.

Let's just hope we get a better crew in Chicago.

I didn't get to see the game but someone said that we started Martin, is that true?

Nah, he started the second period to send a message to the team we assume.

It nearly worked, if not for those pesky kids.

Speaking of pesky kids, you know who would have been nice to have tonight? Tanner Pearson

Today was the game that every call went against us. The league did this so it wasn't obvious that they are trying to force us into the playoffs. They knew we could absorb this loss.

A Saturday klunker game.
Still got games against the Flames and Nucks. Win them and all is well

Jones? He came on in relief of quick, start of the 2nd I think.

Oh. Wait, why did we pull Quick? Did he give up both goals? If so did he look that bad? I can't believe he got pulled. Oh well on to the next game. Got to get it going for CHI. Not too many chances left to sew this thing up.

2 goals on about 10 shots, didn't look that bad, probably a bit of a wake up call to the team cuz we started as flat as a pancake.

Your kidding, right?

We did have a two man advantage we couldn't capitalize on. Didn't we end up with more PP opportunities than the Wild?

Not at all. First was a guy with all the time in the world coming laterally across the crease, second was an absolute snipe backhand walking right down the middle. He stopped an uncontested breakaway by Vanek and was otherwise solid. Was just a "hey guys Quick isn't going to save you the rest of the night, get to work" move imo.

Kopitar... so up... and then so down.

Yes kidding. It just seems like everyone is blaming the refs or a dive or a broken stick. Good teams beat bad calls. I was making fun of the main boards and the Kings are the NHL darling crowd

Yup.

Now apparently there was a bad non-call in the Dallas-vancouver game and it's being blamed on wanting the Kings in. We're affecting other games now. It's gold.

I tend to stay well away from the main boards. I think I have farts that sound more intelligent then some of the comments/theories over there.

Main board has some of the dumbest mother****ers I've seen in my life. I had to go find that post.

Damn, didn't realize the Oilers were winning games semi regularly now. I think they can pull out a win or otl against Chicago, especially if they're out of a playoff spot by Monday

I always have troubles with at least one or two DS decisions during the regular season so no biggie. This is one of those things that are no big deal when you either have a spot locked up or more games to lock up a spot with. Doing it tonight when JQ wasn't the problem seems way to risky of a move for my liking and it looks like it was a bad decision in the end. Oh well we still have 7 more games to get 10 more points. Close but still a couple of games to gamble with I guess.

Onto Chicago.
