Impressed with him, would love to get him in the 3rd round. Size isn't a barrier any more to becoming a good NHL dman. Nice if you have it but if you check the other boxes like skating, positioning, stick technique, passing, hockey IQ you can make it in the big league today.

He's definitely got ++ skating ability and offensive instincts. Didn't look great defensively at the Memorial Cup and he's small, so that will knock him a bit.

In the middle-late rounds though I think he'd be a great value pick.

He screams leafs pick.

I don't see it.

With all the hype the Knights have gotten this year, I can see teams reaching on players like Pu, Mete, Parsons, etc.

Leafs management doesn't seem like the type to take Pu in the first or Mete in the early 2nd (where they will probably end up going because some GM is going to do it...)

I don't see a ton there, outside of the fantastic skating.

If he grows an inch or two though, could have the base for a nice player.

I would take Pu with 31 and Hartt with 29/30

He looks like a Rielly-lite imho.

I hope the Leafs take him late 2nd/early 3rd.

Doesn't have Rielly's hands, playmaking ability, or offensive instincts. Also, Rielly is 6'1" 215lbs and Mete is 5'10" 165lbs.

The only similarities I see is their elite skating, and ability to jump in on the rush. Mete probably is faster straight line, but doesn't have that same elite edgework or the ability to have the puck catch up with his feet.

I love Mete and I hope we take him too, but I don't see the Rielly comparison.

Surprised this thread did not get bumped today.

I kind of forecasted his fall on page 1, but still stoked to get him at 100 as a Habs fan.

He should be one of the OHL's top blueliners the next 2 years.

Not impressed that you got him. He's got Spurgeon written all over him.

Mete is currently the top point producing D in the OHL with 13.

Edit - They took away an assist, so he's at 12. Tied with Hague.

I dont understand this post. Is picking Spurgeon with the 100th pick of the draft a bad thing in your opinion.....

How has he been? Is he putting up points because he plays on a stacked team or is he actually the real deal?

Well they certainly aren't as stacked as last season. People tend to forget that he was one of the youngest draft eligible players too.

Points are 1 thing but he's always been relied upon to play a strong defensive game.
