JD Burke is literally the last person I’d listen to on anything hockey.
As someone who has seen the USNTDP in person, Kleven is not very good.
He's a hitter, but not really a huge hitter. Passing is god awful. Skating is only so-so.
What do you mean by 'huge' hitter?
He goes for the big open ice hits a lot but doesn't connect with regularity, putting himself out of position. But when they do connect they are beauties.
Kleven is the kind of guy who can be a good complimentary 3rd pairing and PK guy, or he ends up like Dylan McIlrath and shuttles between the minors and bigs as a tough-but-slow AHL defender.
So you claim you have watched every game he has ever played?........ The funny thing about 18 year olds 3rd game at the collegiate level is they continue to develop. Big defenseman shockingly have a longer development curve. But I'm sure you know that as well. That’s a nice play, but that’s probably the best play he’s ever made with the puck at a reputable level. Doesn’t mean he can’t be a viable NHL’er, but that’s a one off play. Puck handling is not his game.
Saw him against Minnesota Duluth the other day and he looked pretty good. Looked like the player best suited to today's NHL that was on the ice that night. Sanderson wasn't in the line-up.Been a year but bumping this how's he been?
Third-pair LD spot is his to lose in training camp, but there's not really any legitimate competition for him. He'd have to be a complete disaster in training camp to not make the Senators opening night roster. Will he get a full time NHL shot this season? Intriguing player
This was a better pick than most credited Ottawa for at the time and he’s pretty close now to becoming a full-time NHL’er. He’s going to be an NHL defensemen. All teams need players like him
He’ll be a 15-30 point guy in all likelihood. 30 in his best year(s).Does he have an offensive side to his game? Just looked at his AHL stats last year in his rookie year and put up 21 points in 53 games… obviously not earth shattering but still pretty damn good

Will be a very solid physical defender for the Sens. Very valuable in the league.
