Maybe he was talking about his play in general, not just in the offensive end?Don't get me wrong I'm a huge ty smith fan, but calling him the smoothest d in his draft when Quinn hughes is in his draft is silly.

Yes I meant on both sides of the rink. He just played with extreme poise and almost always made the right play.Maybe he was talking about his play in general, not just in the offensive end?
Can’t wait to see him away from Tennyson. He really should be QBing PP1 instead of Subban
Not even just Hughes but Dahlin as well. Smith is great, but he isn't even close to that tier.
I am a huge Devils fan and really like Smith’s game so far but... it’s only two games.
He has played well but you can still see that on defence with and without the puck , he still has some hesitation in his game.
Still looks like he takes a split second too long processing the game.
As the season moves along and the pace picks up even more , I hope he can adjust and improve along with the pace of the games .
I think he has the skill to do so. Really like his game so far but I am still slightly concerned about.Namely - his positioning, speed in which he processes things, thinks the game under pressure , and deals with an aggressive forecheck.

Post didn't age real well. Tennyson was one of the Devils' better players last night and his experience has helped as Ty Smith makes the adjustment to pro hockey.
I stand by what i said. Tennyson has a history of being nothing more than a tweener. Smith is doing well because he’s really effing goodPost didn't age real well. Tennyson was one of the Devils' better players last night and his experience has helped as Ty Smith makes the adjustment to pro hockey.
Subban could take a few tips from Smith on how to get shots through.
He looked decent last year as well. He's a bottom pairing guy, but he's decent enough at it.I agree that somehow Tennyson looks much better than expected on our blueline.
He's good but he has a ways to go until he beats the streak of John-Michael Liles.

Every game this kid gets stronger and more confident in imprinting his will on the game. Even in a mismatch like last night, where the Isles played a very pro game, Smith showed some nice push-back.
Exactly what I hoped to see. I think he'll figure out the physical play and stickwork in the corners and then it's off to the races.
